I paper scrap but recently fell in love with digital scrapbooking! = Anyone else hooked?
Welcome to the group Tiffany. I only paper scrap. I looked at yours. = They are great layouts.
Why yes, I guess you could say I do.
Welcome to the group Tiffani. I took a look at your layouts, they are great. I love the "Oooh It's So Good" layout. Jorrell looks like he really enjoyed that brownie.
I have only done one layout digitally but I would like to try more. I don't really have a good program to use, so I'll stick with the paper for now!
I'm reviewing Memory Mixer from Lasting Impressions right now. It's pretty good, if you don't want to make your own digital elements. You can do print layouts, and slide shows too - add music, narration, video... I don't know how much it will retail for, but I think it's a good choice for new digital scrappers, especially those with a paper scrapper background.
Welcome, Tiffani!
I've been digital scrapping since 1997, long before I knew there was a name for it or that anyone else did it. I do my layouts with PageMaker & PhotoShop.
I seem to be the only one who's not getting a link to your layouts. Could you re-post it?
Samples from some of my albums are on the web at

I got my start in digital scrapping before I too know what it was. I had been making tags and adding elements to my pictures WAY back in PaintShop Pro v7.04. I have now graduated to PSPX and find that digi scrapping is much more suited to my lifestyle of SAHM of almost 9 and online student. I rarely have time or space to unpack my paper scrapping stuff but I can always work on a layout here or there on the pc without busy hands "helping" me! I checked out your albums...love the antique photos. I am trying to round up some of those from my family members so that I can digitize them.
here is the direct link
I've never used PaintShop. In addition to PageMaker (my graphics program of choice -- of course, it's almost the only one I've used ) & PhotoShop, I'm now being forced to learn InDesign. YUCK! It has a few improvements over PM (repeat undo & being able to see the link by just clicking on the pic), but for the most part I find it's more difficult to use than PM & I don't like it. :::sticking my lip out & pouting:::
Wow, sounds busy!
LOL. As long as they keep their hands off the keyboard (& sticky fingers off the monitor). My problem is kitty fur under the keys, as my 19 3/4 year old "baby" seems to shed all over the computer.
Thanks! I've been into genealogy since I was in high school, so most of my albums are family history related. I'm the pest in the family (dad had 8 brothers & sisters) who's always asking for photos (especially old ones) to scan & add to the collection. My plan is to make a "big album" (they're big already, & that's w/o all the photos I have that I want to include) & make it available to anyone in the family who wants a copy. I want to get them scattered around to different branches of the family, so if one or more is lost (or original photos are lost), the images won't be gone forever.
digitize them.
Good for you! When you do, if you can save them to CD, I'd suggest making several copies & storing them with different people. Especially after watching all the Hurricane Katrina flooding last year, it reminds you that everything can be lost in an instant if you only have one copy or have all your copies in one place.
Google must hate me because the link takes me to a gallery with 2700 different images. I searched by member name. Does yours start with "Tiffers"? If not, what's your user name there (or at least the first part of it) so I can look you up?

my username is tiffers2k5......and Katrina is what prompted me to start handing out cd backups of scanned photos to different family members. Even my one elderly aunt who has never even turned on a computer but has the first doily she ever tatted (I think that's the word she used!). each new set of photos are backed up to DVD and copies made. I can't imagine losing those precious moments that can never be recaptured. One of my favorite photos is one of my husband kissing our newborn daughter only minutes after her birth. I can't wait until she is also old enough to see and appreciate it as well as her future children.
I don't have ANY experience with PM and grew to hate Photoshop after a design class where all work was done on Mac's. I have used PhotoImpact but tend to only open that if I want some specific element and I have to create it. I took an online class way back in 2000 on PSP and got a thorough understanding of it so I just pretty much sticks with what works!
That was my guess last night, so looked at some of your layouts then & the rest this morning.
LOL. But wouldn't she love to "save the day" if something happened to your copy!
My current plan is to get an external hard drive big enought to hold all my photos & layouts, then I can re-organize them so I can put copies of only the best versions & put them on CDs in a logical order, then burn copies to save. As I've gotten pics from different relatives at different times (after having burned some to CD), they're a tad disorganized at the moment.
Which is why I stick with PageMaker & PhotoShop. LOL
Nice to have another digital scrapper here. Welcome!
Alicia
Thanks for the compliments!!!!
