Lynne I was wondering the same thing. Also where you can you purchase transparency paper?

Appreciate all the freebies you all keep throwing at us.

Lynne, you can run transparency through an ink jet printer but I think it has to be the same kind you put through a photocopier. The thinner ones warp or something like that. My DH had some from university days when he did presentations in class.

Chrissy, any stationary store should sell them. My DH was just reading over my shoulder and mentioned that the ones for printers are heat tolerant and matte on one side so the ink adheres better.

Office supply stores or even Wal-Mart carries the transparencies. Buy the kind for your printer. If you have a laser printer than use the ones made for a laser and if you have an ink jet printer then use the one for ink jets. It will clearly state what kind of transparency is in the package. When you use them be sure you have them loaded into the printer correctly. There is an up side and a down side to the sheet.

Also you can use a transparency to make you own rub on. In you word document software such as WORD or WordPerfect, write a saying. Then make it an "object" so that the software see it as a picture instead of a string of words. Flip it over so that it appears backwards. Print it on the transparencies backside. Now align transparency on card and rub hard until all the print is off. Remove carefully.

I print on vellum all the time. Works great in my printer - hp photosmart

7150. My friend has to set her printer to the lightest setting to print on vellum with hers, but I don't know what kind of printer she uses. Sandy

Like Sandy I've done a lot of printing on vellum. I got the vellum for lazerjets and I get great results. I'm anxious to try the transparency since I refuse to buy them at the store thinking I could print them myself, but have never tried.
