This is taken from Hancock Fabrics free project pages. Their title is Odyssey of Colors more commonly known as a blooming 9-patch. The instructions are not given in strip piecing methods but in cut squares

- this shouldn't be a problem to convert back if you prefer. There is a good layout diagram to follow for 9patch blocks - instructions are for king or queen sized quilts. pdf link taken from

I really like the effect of the center blocks. Very striking! Thanks for the link!

------------------------------------- Jennellh,

I've searched the Hancock website for the free Odyssey of Changing Colors pattern but can't find it. Did you make the quilt?

Hancock Fabrics used to have quite a few free patterns on their website. The freebies seem to have disappeared some time ago. I don't know just when, but it's been at least several months.

There are still free patterns available on the Hancock's site - look on their home page under the first advertisement block, there are 3 tabs: 'featured products', 'sale items', 'free projects'. Currently there are 4 patterns available. jennellh - barnyowl
