I saw an ad in the December American Patchwork & Quilting & liked the pattern & it is available at the Windham Fabrics website - along with many other free patterns. I bet I'm the only one that didn't know about it:)

It's called Soaring Eagles. It's not very impressive on the website, but in the glossy magazine ad, it caught my eye. And I like that you can see how they quilted it - in the magazine ad. I really struggle with machine quilting & it looks like something I can do effortlessly, yet it is very effective. I was thinking of making it in red, white & blue, but in brighter hues than the sample quilt.

Thanks Jennell. I do have most of the manufacturer's bookmarked - I just hadn't come across this one yet. With all the free patterns available on the net, it's a wonder that books & magazines even sell. I'm a huge book & magazine junkie. I like to browse (& dream) while I'm watching TV. And - I want to be sure the publishers stay in business:)
