Miss scrappy -

While I am not a digital scrapbooker, I've found that I like to visit the digital scrapbooking sites, and download their papers and embelishments ot print out.

You can google "digital scrapbooking," for a start.

One of the better collections i"ve found is at "freedigitalscrapbooking.com"

Also, as someone who pinched pennies these days, but still has a major addiction to feed, I also will take the time to rifle through clearance bins at the craft stores, check garage sales and thrift stores, and think about using things one might not otherwise think of.

Good luck with your project! I hope you share the results.

Diana asked:

Digital scrapbooking is scrapbooking done on the computer. Some people use programs designed specifically for scrapbooking. I started years before I ever knew it had a name & other people were doing it, so I've always done it with Photoshop & graphics program.

Once you've created your pages on screen, you have the advantage of being able to print out as many copies as you'd like. I've made most of mine for my family, so I like the advantage of easily being able to create them in bulk. Another advantage is that it's easy to make changes, corrections, additions & deletions where you might not be able to with something glued down.

I appreciate the look that traditional scrappers get with their work. Sure wish I could do as well! Digital scrapping seems to work better for me.

Hi Alicia, OIC - thank you so much for your kind response. It sounds complicated -- so for the time being I think I'll stay with the other way but I can see how it would be good if having made a 'mistake' and this would be an easy way to correct. I'm just beginning but maybe down the road I'll try this way too. Thanks again, Diana

This is a site Kate gave us a while back. They sell their artwork, but the ideas are great and they do give out freebies all the time.

Hi,

I am not much of digi either, but Shabby Princess does have some really cute sets to download. I did use a few for some ABC pages I did a few months ago. The link is

has a bunch of free dingbat fonts. Most of them don't look so great if you make them really big, though. I like to print them out in black ink on a solid piece of paper that coordinates with my project. Comes out looking like I used a stamp. For full color images, I use google image search all the time. I like the advanced search option.

I am not doing much digital either. My photos are from my digital camera and I print them on an Epson R2400. I do some titling and journaling on the computer. I have also started scanning in all of the papers I use. I started doing this when I recently return to Michaels to get a couple more sheets of an animal print paper only to find out that that design has been discontinued. I don't know why this never dawn on me as being possible before. So I headed home and scanned in my last 12x12 sheet. I had to do it in to passes (most consumer scanners won't handle things much larger than

8-1/2 by 11. Once I have the two pieces saved I use PTGui to combine them. PTGui is a panorama stitching program and it did the job perfectly. So now I am scanning in all of the papers I use and creating a digital archive for when they go by by I can always print what I need.

This is also cool because I can instantly recolor the papers to whatever I need and I can even change them considerably giving me much more paper options. Plus the Epson R2400 like the R1800 can do full bleed (no borders) on 12X12 paper that Epson sells. So presto instant custom print papers.
