Gel Medium???

i have been watching HGTV the past couple mornings and almost every crafter on there uses gel medium. it seems to work so much better than ModPodge. i know they can't say brands on tv, so i was wondering if someone else knew what it is. where do you get it and what brand makes it.

Are they using it to glue things down with? I thought it was just to mix in with paint so it wouldn't dry too fast so you can do different faux finishes.

they are using it to glue down and then to put a "finish". it's used just like ModPodge only it seems to work a little better

Golden makes gel in different weights. The thicker the gel the heavier an article it can hold. Modge Podge is actually considered a glaze rather than a gel. To make sure I could answer this right I went to view the section on gels on this DVD that I just ordered and got called Exploring Art Materials (How to get more from what you already have). It's a great DVD! Please email me privately if you want more information on how to get either.

Donna Downey actually used it in one of her classes while I was helping at CKU Houston. The Gel Medium is fairly expense stuff but I was able to buy it at Micheals with a 40% off coupon. MC's description is really acturate so I will pass on adding any more information. The Gel Medium did work well with adhearing the items Donna was using.
