I'm back....I think

Okay, Yes I finally had my gallbladder removed. Thankgoodness! It's great to be able to eat and not be sick! Or not eat and still be sick! I will have a longer recovery time as while the surgeon was inside (he looked around) he found that part of my large intestine (about 12 inches) had adhered itself to my abdominal wall, along where my "girly parts" used to be. So I am extremely frustrated as I think I should be further along than where I am, so I have to keep reminding myself I had more than "just a gallbladder" out. Saturday I WAY over did it. Our oldest DS graduated from a leadership school for ROTC. I would not have missed it for the world! There was alot of walking involved, so needless to say that after we got home I was inbed for the rest of the weekend.

DH family has been wonderful, they have brought food everyday for us. So DH hasn't had to cook. My parents went out of town on Saturday (my grandpa has surgery tomorrow) so they left after DS's graduation.

I hope I am up for the 15th-16th. I am taking it really easy, very hard to do as I am a recovering control freak! LOL The house isn't as clean as I'd like it but it's presentable, the laundry is done and bathrooms are clean so I can't complain.

I will saythat while I've been gone you ladies and gentleman have talked alot! LOL I scanned the posts as there were over 500 posts that I hadn't read!

Welcome to all the newbies. Jeanne congrats on being a new aunt! Jeanne, Kryss my prayers and good thoughts are with your families during these hard times. Deb, M-C...beautiful albums! You two have outdone yourselves! Kate, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get the job you're looking for. Linda, I'm sorry your best friend moved, 6 hours is just a weekend visit, consider it a short retreat. Sabrina, Hope you have a wonderful time camping, I wanna join you!

If I've misssed someone, I'm sorry, so many posts to read through!

I'm so glad you are finally feeling better. It seemed like it took forever for them to decide what to do for you. At least it is over. Hope your recovery continues well. Take it easy.

Kenda,

Keep up the bed rest or you'll be sicker than you started out. The sooner you recover the sooner you can get back to your craft room.

Hugs,Kate

Glad to hear you are making good progress Kenda, considering you had a bigger procedure than originally thought necessary. I can understand you wanting to be at DS's graduation, even if it was tiring :o) Now you have to take extra good care of yourself to let things heal properly and you need to regain your strength.

Take care, Marilyn

So, glad you're back and taking it easy from now on. I totally would have pushed myself to go to my child's graduation too. Next time "borrow a wheel chair!" Wish you were in my neighborhood. I have one in my garage that gets borrowed frequently. Just got returned Sunday. It's amazing how handy they can be.

So, what's the verdict? How did your gall bladder look? Or was it the intestine causing all the trouble?

Haven't attempted either, yet! guess I'm gun shy.....LOL

Don't know either, though I'm sure it was the gallbladder as it was located where all the pain was coming from. The intestine was down lower, (darn that hystercotomy anyway! remove parts and the body trys to put something else in their place! lol ) I actually had no idea there was that type of problem.....guess the surgeon was looking at the "large amount of scar tissue" that was noted by the radiologist from my CT scan. Could have been a problem further down the road. Will keep the "borrowing of a wheel chair" in mind, hopefully won't be a next time!
