I am back

Tto Enzo I am sure you know where I have been!

Thank you for all the lovey mails, I was very touched!!!!

As you will know, I had my left knee replaced last thursday

I am home and trying to get myself sorted out. I am rather dopey with all the pain killers.

I managed to convince my consultant that in my opinion, hospitals are for sick people and I am not sick:) I just have a bad knee. I worked very hard and got moving quickly.

David and I cleaned my room every day twice a day. Of course it was clean already.. this is a private hospital and they are very good, but I wanted to be extra sure after last time, so we used antiseptic spray and wipes over everything. I also interrogated anyone who came in to touch me as to whether they had washed their hands! I suspect they were glad to get rid of me:) I got out yesterday after 3 days:))

I didn't care... I just wanted to give myself the best chance possible and of course we are doing the same thing at home.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I don't get an infection again please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love to you all

Hi Auntie O,

Oh, it's great to see your post. Now just relax and read your book, but do exercise so the knee doesn't get stiff.

Hugs,

Nora

Ophelia, How lovely to hear from you directly. Enzo did a great job, but it's just not the same. LOL Yes, please keep yourself from getting an infection this time. Take care and we'll see you when you are up to posting.

Welcome home, Ophelia! Glad to hear you taking charge of your care - someone has to and the doctors/hospitals just don't have as much invested as we do! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Great to see you again, Ophelia. I am experiencing deja vu right now. Fingers crossed, and heaven is being stormed by prayers as well.

Hello Ophelia, I'm happy to see you are out of the hospital so quickly. My fingers are tightly crossed but man is it hard to type and knit. LOL It is an unfortunate fact of life that hospitals aren't as sterile as we would like to believe so you were smart to take the precautions you did. Sometimes I think my brother, who died from an infection in a hospital, would be alive today if he had done the same as you.

LOL thanks Kartherine. Especially for the prayers. Last time it was 2 weeks after the op that the infection made its presence felt:(
