Welcome to the dark side, Kate. Nice pages!

Are you into genealogy, too? I'm guessing "yes" based on some of your pages. Scrapbooking & genealogy go well together. I've been doing genealogy since high school & digital scrapbooking for over a decade.

Hi Alicia,

No actually I am making a birthday gift for my cousin who is turning

90 in July and wanted it to be of her life and of her family so technically it is just a digital scrapbook with a little help from my other cousin (who is 67) who has been doing our geneology and had come across some pictures of her family. I wanted to add the crossing of her mother and Aunt on the Cedric and found the information on Ellis Island's website.

I was going to do it traditionally but got so hooked on the new program that I rethought the whole thing when the pages were looking better than I imagined. since I don't mind mixing mediums I may make one page or two or three traditional due to the fact I'm finding it hard to scrapbook a confirmation class photo from 1927 in the digital format.

It also worked out better as I can bring the laptop to work and scrap on lunch than risking the page getting dirty on a lunch table. However, I worked on a bunch of other pages last night but was too tired to upload them.

Hi Kate,

I'm new to this group. Would you mind telling me what program you are addicted to? lol Your pages look great.

I'm getting a new digital camera as soon as I can figure out what I NEED - I'm into genealogy also, and have inherited my husband's family's huge tonnage of photos and they expect me to do something WONDERFUL with them.

Looking forward to your response, and any pointers anyone has about what sort of camera I should look at.

Thanks, Cathy cacshantih
