Mothers Day card

Hi M-C,

I am sending you a high resolution version of your son's card that I modified in my photo package. Print it off onto an 8 x 10 photo paper using you printer's best quality. Let it dry thoroughly, trim off white border and double mount it. I used pale pink and soft green to compliment the card background. Place it on Chatterbox Bubblegum Pink Bassill towards the top (matches the colour in the centre of the "I Love You" rose), tie some tonal fibers around the bottom and add a heart shaped clip where they are tied to one side. Add one Paper Pizzazz faux silver label "Nurture" or something similar and you have your traditional LO :o)

Hope you like the treatment :o) Marilyn

I understand that completely! I have paper, paper all over my craft room too and hubby just told me yesterday that he really likes it when I am upstairs scrapping when he is home so that he can more easily drop in to talk and hug! So I'll have to figure where to set up. I've put a couple of tables in our master, since the cats don't come in here, but I'm not sure how to proceed! I too like to be closer when he's home, but I'm afraid I'll have two messy scrapping areas...LOL! I'll have to figure something out that works without being too cumbersome. Ideas are more than welcome!

Sabrina...I didn't DO anything special:o) I only modified the dpi and printed M-C's digital card out on photo paper. The LO is all just placed then photographed so I could give M-C an idea on how to turn her beautiful Mother's Day card into a traditional LO. I had a great time doing it rather than clearing up the messy scrap room....ROFL

I think the whole thing you made should be stuck in an album. Absolutely beautiful. Great idea for saving other cards in a creative and beautiful way.

Wow Marilyn! You're right, that would look great in an album. I had never thought of printing out digital cards. The kiddos sometimes get e-cards from my siblings and this would be a great way to keep them. Great idea Marilyn!

The way I look at it is...scrapping is all about preserving memories and it doesn't really matter what format they are in. Now that so much of what we receive comes in electronic or digital format we need to be a little more inventive to utilize them for albums. It is nice to keep the originals and write them to CD but how often do you go back and look at them on a disc. Print them and scrap them is what I say...LOL

Glad I gave you another idea LOL Save them Deb and increase to 300 dpi so they print better quality...print out like a 6 x 4 and use several on a page just as you would with "normal" photographs. I like the idea since lots of people now use e-cards rather than normal cards.

LOL Marilyn, I am with you on cleaning up my messy scraps after a big session of creativity! I use any excuse I can get by with. I usually just close the door! LOL

I am sooo with you on that. I scrap everything... J.T. is gonna have all of his first cards that Grandma J sends him for every holiday. I have all mine, and Nick has all of his. Trent looses his, but he just does not understand everything... Although he did say that the cloth that was in my mother's day gift would be awesome on a page.... I was in shock that he would be thinking anything about scraping.
