My March Challenge

I posted my March Challenge pages in the Challenges folder of my Yahoo Photo page. I was only able to use 8 brads and 8 snaps, couldn't figure out how to use more on the layouts.

What exactly are these monthly challenges and how do you find out about them?

Hi Jennifer and welcome to RCS!!! Every month I come up with a challenge and post it both here in the newsgroup and then on our website.

look under challenges. Then I post everyone's layouts on the site so that everyone can see what we've done. Anyone can take part in the challenges.

Very, very nice Cathy! I love the tearing and the color choices! Isn't is neat to see so many different ways of interpreting Becky's sketch! I tried to snag the pictures from yahoo photos, but the quality isn't as good as I'd like. Can you email the scans to me, pretty please?

BTW, I mailed of your prize yesterday priority! Let us know when you get it and how you like it, k?

Thanks,

Looks great Cathy. And the brads/snaps issue... you used 16 altogether and I bet that's twice as many as you usually use. Good job. I LOVE the little stingrays. Did you make them?

Thank you for letting me know. I have been scanning the newsgroup for a while now and have posted a couple of messages but didn't get any responses except for one. I would love to be a part of the RCS. I look for new posts periodically everyday.

Thanks so much!

Great LO Cathy. Your paper choices were perfect for the photos. It looked like a fun day. I think I used 17 on mine. I'm like you, it just didn't seem to need any more. Just a note - I used fibers I got from you in the swap on my March Challenge. Thanks! Sandy

Cathy, I like the colors you used and as far as the brads/snaps I think you used plenty!! If you used more than you normally would have then you have risen to the challange!

Glad to have you! You still have time to do the March challenge if you'd like! Don't be afraid to jump right into the middle of things and share your opinions! I took a look at your LOs. Your DD is adorable as one of your layouts says. I really like the cross stitch detail on that one. So nice and even! I think I might scraplift that for one of my layouts!

Cathy, I do love it!!! I like using brads but I don't think I have ever used more than ten in a LO.

Thanks for the welcome. I think I am going to try to do the challenge. My wheels are turning in my idea head already. For the crosstitch border, I took a piece of graph paper and placed it over the corner (evened them up to match) and pierced the paper with my paper piercer then went back and sewed with the thread. Very easy.

Jennifer -- Welcome to RCS! It's a really chatty group so it really surprises me if you didn't get any responses. I browsed your webshot and our work is fabulous. I really like the paper fold boarder. Do you have the link to the DIY that showed you how to do it? If not, would you be willing to post the instruction on RCS?

Thank you!

I agree. Welcome to the group. It is surprising that you didn't get no response. Everyone is always friendly. I looked at your webshots. I like the way you cut out your daughters feet in the dora page. Hope to see more posts from you.

Yes, when I saw the episode for the border fold, I was so amazed with it and how easy it was that I went the next day to my LSS and bought the template for it. I found the episode on the DIY website but the instructions don't seem to be so clear to me so if you would like for me to put it in my words of how I did it, I will. I didn't do as great of a job as the one on the episode but as a first try, I think it worked. Next time I will know how to make it better.

Welcome to the group Jennifer. I love your pages. The pictures of Kamryn at gymnastics brought back fond memories. I used to teach pre-school gymnastics classes. It was lots of fun.
