My February Challenge Page

I've posted my February challenge page in my Yahoo Photos page. It is in the new pages folder.

I did my first quilling on the page and I think it turned out pretty well. I'm ready to try some more quilling projects.

Beautiful LO. What did you do to the three little pictures to get the color changes? Quilling looks neat. Got to try it..... Sandy

Just beautiful!!! I love the quilled flower embellishment....must get around to using mine now I have seen yours. Looks like I have piqued peeps interest in another craft. Anyone tried tatting? I have and it is beautiful for using on heritage LO's :o)

Can't get scrapping for organising my stash....LOL I just got the courier delivery from my last eBay raid so I have been stroking and playing with new goodies this morning. Lovely fibres ( 5 lots), 2 new albums and a Scrap and Carry for scrapping on the move, a couple of photo organisers and she sent me some freebies (ribbon (broad white satin & gold), sequin waste, eyelets, gold embellies, and deckle edge scissors), cause I ordered two big orders from her in the last couple of weeks :o) I will need to give her great feedback as it was really generous to include all the extras.

I copied them on a color copier and then put them on a piece of packing tape. Then you soak the strip in water and rub the paper off the back of the tape and the picture stays. It was the first time I tried it and it turned out pretty well.

I have been experimenting with it for a few weeks. This was the first thing that turned out half way decent!

I have done some needle tatting. A few years ago, I tatted Christmas wreaths for the cards I did that year. I did about 60 of them and since then I haven't done much tatting. The card is in the cards folder of my yahoo photos if you want to take a look.

Sounds like you are having a good time going through your new box of goodies. How nice that she sent some freebies too.

Enjoy!

Very pretty card Cathy! I did some tatting on cards year before last but nothing since and don't have a photo to 'show and tell' sorry :o( Must get my book and tatting shuttle out again and see what I can do. I would like to do some for a layout but don't know what yet....nevermind it will come to me eventually.

I have enjoyed going through my new goodies today but this afternoon I have started to make some vellum embellishments for another wedding layout, as one of the albums today is a wedding album. Quite pleased with the way the first few have turned out so will carry on with those but it is slow going. The layout is still in the development stage....read still ideas in my head...LOL

It would help if I read which album it was in first... :) but that's OK enjoyed looking at your challenge pages again. The New page in the "new page" folder is very nice. Now you described the three pictures technique am I right thinking the tape then still has the photos on it and then added to the album? Looks very nice and of course I love the quilling.

Cathy,

Your page is gorgeous... you're the kind of scrapper that intimidates me. It all seems so perfect and yet simplistic and elegent all at the same time. Do you plan your pages extensively beforehand or create as you go or what is your method?

Yes, the paper rubs off and the toner is left on the tape. The tape is still tacky, so I didn't even need any adhesive to put it on the page.

Melissa is is funny you should say that. To me this page is just so-so. I knew which pictures I wanted to use and then found the quote while looking for something else, and it fit. I also wanted to try the packing tape technique. I don't really plan out my pages, they just kind of happen. Usually I lay everything out and then leave it for a while. I come back later and move things or change things before I attach everything to the page.

A new technique to try!!! :-) Thank you for sharing -- I'm going to HAVE to try it!

Oooh! The altoids tin enhancement project just popped into my head. That would be a cool way to transfer pictures onto a tin or even those paper boxes Michael's sells. I see a new craft project for my Girl Scouts in their future -- Mother's day is just around the corner!
