there is a link at the top for "groups" do a search for rec.crafts.scrapbooks and it should come up and if you are a gmail member or signed up for google then you "add" the newsgroup to your groups.

There is a direct link to the google version of our group on www.r-c-sinfo on the main page. There are also explanations on how to be able to access this group from anywhere at all using outlook express and individual.net.

Well, I've been on my pc for well over a yr now and still haven't been able to figure out how to access through outlook. I just read through google. Maybe I'd be more active here if there was an easier way to read the mssgs, maybe. ;-}

Cathy, when I was on webtv I would sometimes read rcs at google whenever the webbie seemed to be missing mssgs.

i read mine thru outlook and I personally find it easier for me to read them on there. When i finish and leave the group to go to regular mail it marks them all read so when i come back the new messages are in bold black and get my attention to read them. I go to google if I need to dbl check or outlook is not working. Or if I need to be a SUPER SNEAKY SECRET SANTA.....LOL

While you are in Outlook Express click on tools then Newsgroups. If your server has a list available check to see if "rec.crafts.scrapbooks" is on the list. Highlight it if it's there and click on subscribe. That's how I read the newsgroup. It shows up in the Local Folders with my Inbox and I just click on it to read the messages.

Mine's the same way. I don't know if I could handle reading through Google all of the time. I only go there when I need to hunt for something I remember someone posting in the past or when I can tell I've missed some posts for some reason or the other. Or as SS's helper to see who has been a member and for how long. Sandy

I have Outlook Express and I went through the help menu on Outlook Express and my Internet Provider's website. They both told me exactly how to set up newsgroups. They gave me the settings that I just had to copy and paste. Keeping trying and asking questions Katrina I think the combined group here can get you up and reading newsgroups.

The only difference with using individual.net is that for something like $14 US you can access it anywhere you go. Often if you travel and only have your own ISP, you can not access this group via outlook express on the road.

is there any luck in getting it thru microsoft mail? I hate this email program! I miss my outlook! I used to have outlook express and I had the newsgroups on it.. but now .. that's a thing of the past. I now have to go to the website to view this group. christina
