Newbie

Hi, my name is Cindy and I would like to join your group. I have been lurking for a while (I use my sister's computer with the newsreader software on it, to explain the difference in names) but was a little overwhelmed by the number of posts there are, but I think I can keep up.

I am from Toledo, OH and am a single mom with a 4 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. My sister lives with us to help me with the kids.(She goes to work later than I do and can get them to school) I am a teacher in a charter school in MI. I love my job, I teach 3rd and 4th grade in a multiage classroom. I teach all of the kids to their ability level which means I actually teach all grade levels to 7 to 10 year olds. It takes a lot of time, but it works for me. Luckily, my kids love to come to school in the evenings. They do their homework there and use the computers and all my craft supplies to keep them busy. It just means that I go find lots of ways to work on my scrapbooking in creative ways. I host 2 crops a month in the evenings at school. It is $5 to come and all of the proceeds go to buying new accucut dies for the machine we have (no budget for these). Of course the croppers use the accucut machine that night also.

I am also a Stampin'up demonstrator. My cropping nights usually help me reach my quarterly sales quota as well as a Stamp Camp once a quarter. I am having one on the 16th of this month. It is from 9am to

10pm. We are doing projects with new items from the catalog in the am, at least 5. In the afternoon, we will do at least 5 more projects themed Christmas in July. In the evening it will be crop time to work on whatever you want to. I charge $30 for the day, but continental breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. For those who don't want to come for the projects, they can come just for the crop time for $5.

I like to keep busy, and in my other spare time I am a board member of Supercamp, a weekend camp in May that my mother started 30 years ago. I spend a lot of time fundraising for camp as well.

Well, I think I've said enough, too much more and you'll block me from joining. Thanks

Hi Cindy and welcome. I am always thrilled when a lurker decides to come out and play with us. Frankly no one can stop you from joining the group! About the worst thing that can happen around here is when someone who is in a swap doesn't go through with their obligation and flakes. That usually means that no one wants to let them join the next few and they don't really get to host something for a while either. Sounds like you are a busy person that does a lot of good though! You are lucky to have your sister with you and to be creative enough to keep your kids, both your own and other people's entertained and busy. I hope we will get to see some of your work in the future and that you will continue to be an active member of RCS.

Again, welcome,
