Newbie

Good evening everyone I'm new to this group. I started my scrapbook two years ago. That was the first year my family decided to do an annual trip. Does anyone know how to find Local Scrapbook groups?

Welcome to rcs Camille! I suggest checking your phonebook for scrapbook stores. They usually have crops where you can get together w/ other folks and work on your layouts and use the stores supplies. There's also

Welcome to RCS Camille! I used to live down near you in Landover, a few years ago. Now I live out in Western MD. There used to be a group down you way, but not sure where or if they are still around. Check with one of the Scrapbook stores down that way, they may know.

Hi Camille.

Can't help with scrap groups I am afraid, as I am in South Africa, but hope you decide to join this group - all very friendly and supportive, I am still a newbie myself, but thanks to these ladies I have done more scrapping then I have in awhile.

Welcome!

Hi camille and welcome to RCS from one of the few amitted Male Picture Placers out here - (LOL!)

If you have like Hobby Lobby or more so michaels or AC Moore where you are, they often have classes. You could ask there too.

Welcome to the group Camille! Have you tried looking online for local stores and groups? I have asked around at my sons school and talked to some teachers to see if they knew of anyone that scraps! I did a search for you on finding some local demonstrators that sell scrapping and stamping supplies. I am sure there are more companies, but these are the ones I have heard of.

Welcome to the group Camille. I found my local scrapping group through meetup.com. You can also check with your local scrapbook stores, they may know of some groups.

Welcome to RCS Camille...sorry I'm late in replying but I have been busy trying to catch up on posts and do my first pages of the year :o) Hope you managed to find a local group to attend. I'm in Scotland and I scrap all alone in my craft attic and prefer it that way LOL Have nothing much in this area anyway in the way of LSS so I shop online for supplies.

Hello Camille and welcome to the group. I stay in South Africa, but I'm sure the other members of the group will point you in the right direction. Would love to see some of your work!

Marilyn, I prefer to scrap alone, too. But I love to go socialize every now and then. I get far more done at home by myself than I do with scrap buddies. I am just too busy looking at their LO and asking about ther techniques and finding out more about them.

Don't get me wrong Sabrina...I can socialise with the next person but like you I would be distracted from scrapping. I my view it is better to go to an expo than to a crop....I would be disracted and distracting at a crop....cuz I'm nosey....hehehe If I spend my money to go to an expo, I can stroke, drool over new toys, watch technique demos and buy nice things and take them back to my "nest". Perhaps I will try a crop one day but I am not in a hurry :o) At the moment I have the best of both worlds.....I can scrap on my own....no distractions.....and I can socialise with peeps on the NG. I think that is a good plan for me LOLOL
