No protector?

I have in mind to mount several small pages of text like a book on one of my pages. I've seen examples online of pages that have elements that flip open or slip into pockets, etc, but never paid too much attention to how they were constructed. Now that I want to use that idea, I've hit a problem.

You can't use a page protector with these types of layouts. (Right?)

My page protector is how the page gets put into the album (post bound; protectors have the mounting holes -- page slips into it from the top).

Are there inserts that are just paper (no plastic sleeve)? I haven't noticed anything like this in Michaels. Do you make your own?

Help!

I have not seen anythig like that either Gina. I made some of my own and after postioning them in the page protector, marked where the fold out is cut a flap in the page protector. When the page is close, that flap still gives protection and you can still see or use the fold out!!

Hope this makes sense or helps!!

What I have done in the past is cut slits in the page protector so that you are able to (in your case) read the book or flip the pages to see more pictures. I leave the flap attached so that it still covers the page when not in use. Clear as mud?

One thing you can do is to slide the finished sheet into the protector and then CAREFULLY cut a slit in the plastic sheet where the movable element is... then you can slide the bits you want people to be able to lift/turn through the slot and people can look at them to their hearts content without getting fingermarks on the rest of the page.

There seems to be a consensus to alter the page protector. Makes sense! I'll do that.

Thanks, all!
