Non-Barn goers swap

Just a reminder that the signups for this swap will close March 8th. I only have one person signed up right now. Remember, nothing is due until May, so you have plenty of time to put your package together. If no one's up for this, that's ok. I'm hoping my original post just didn't show up. :-) If it hasn't, here's the info again.

RCS Non-Meet Go-ers Swap

Hostess: Deb in AR (bsrdjr AT sbcglobal DOT net)

Dates: Signups are Feb 22 - March 8 (That gives you over a month to put your package together.) Must be delivered to your partner May 4th or 5th...NO LATER! This is very important since most people will be arriving at the Barn May

4th and 5th.

Eligibilty: To be eligible for this swap you must NOT be going to the Barn. You also must be a regular poster for 3 months. "Regular poster" is defined as someone who posts at least 3 times a week for 3 months. You must also be willing to get to know your swap parter.

Details: This swap will be for those who are NOT able to go to the scrapbooking Barn for our RCS Meet in May. Therefore, only those not attending the meet will be eligible for this swap. You'll have over a month to get to know your swap partner, so do so! Those at the Barn will have several days to talk, laugh, and scrap, but that doesn't mean you and your partner have to miss out on the fun.

Instructions: For this swap, you will send a package to your swap partner, in time to deliver either May 4th or 5th, which is when the RCS Meet will be getting underway at the Barn. I highly suggest you make sure you have some kind of tracking and insurance on your package. I would hate for you to put all your time and effort into a package to have it lost and no way to replace it.

You may send as much as you want in the package, that's up to you. You may put it all loose in a box, or you may put it in a pretty container and ship the container in a box. It's up to you. There's no spending minimum or limit. This is going to be a very creative swap! All you do is send something from the list provided. If it's not on the required list, but you want to add it in, feel free to. For instance, if you know your partner likes candles and you want to send a pretty candle, go ahead...as long as you fulfill the required items. Notice that I didn't give a number of items for R, C, M, E, E, or T. Feel free to send 1 from R, 3 from C, 5 from M, 4 from E and E, and 1 from T. The choice is completely up to you, just as long as you send minimumly 1 from each letter. Obviously, the goal is to send thing syour partner will like, enjoy, and use. Use your imagination! We're creative people, now show that creativity!

Guidelines:

R - Reflective (CD, metal, anything shiny) C - Clear (glass, acrylic, clear embossed, etc.) S - Scrapbook page about yourself (1 or 2 pages, 6 x 6 since Barn go-ers will be swapping 6 x 6 pages. This can be the start of a 6 x 6 RCS album!) M - Mesh or metal (metal can be brads, eyelets, hinges, etc) E - Embossed (just not clear embossed) E - Embellishment not already listed (buttons, zipper, fiber, ribbon, etc) T - Technique (You send a sample of a scrappbooking technique you know, but your partner DOESN'T know, with instructions.)

Signup Instructions:

Email me the following information. I will pair people up and send out the notices. Once you have your partner, start getting to know each other and planning.

Online name: Name: Address: Phone number: Email address: Family info: Pets: Other hobbys besides scrapbooking: Favorite subjects to scrap: Favorite scrapping colors Favorite scrapping style: Current album(s) working on: Album sizes: Favorite scrapping technique: Techniques you know and use: Techniques you want to learn:

Posting Instructions: Once you have your package, post to the newsgroup all the goodies you got. It adds to the fun, and it also assures your partner that you received the package.

I'd like to be a part of this swap, but the timing isn't right for me. I'm going to be on vacation for two weeks during the swap time. Maybe next time.

I can't wait to get remembering to post regularly again! Although even if I were at the moment, it'd be hard to gather up stufff for this fun swap. :( I'm limited here so it's creativity for me LOL

Have fun ladies! (and gents)

Sure Lin, I'll explain some more. I'll pair you up with someone, and the two of you will exchange packages. Kind of like the NSSSF, but you'll have a list of items to include in the package. Those are...

Those are guidelines, though. For instance, for R, if you want to send a CD of fonts and metal embellishments, you can. Or, if you just want to send metal embellishments, you can. The idea is to have over a month to get to know your swap partner and send things (using the letters above) that they will like, and hopefully use. You can also send extra things not on the list! If you find something pretty (a candle, frame, magnet, etc) that you know your swap partner would love, and want to send it, feel free to.

Hopefully that explains it more. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I've participated in a swap like this before, and it was confusing for me the first time.

Yep, you only need items that go with the letter. R stands for reflective, and so on. I'll be glad to help in any way I can.

Well, I'm going to keep the signups open for a few more days. So far, I only have Jacqui's sign up. Jacqui needs someone to play with in this. LOL If anyone else has emailed their info, email it again and post here that you emailed me. (Darn spam filter...)
