OT: Birthday Report

Thank you to each of you that took the time to wish Mel and I a Happy Birthday! I had a nice day....had my nails done (hands and feet!) went for a 1 hr massage (boy did I need it!).... had dinner with my DH, Dad and his wife.....it was all good. DD made a pan of brownies (yum), DS gave me a gift card to one of the stores around here...I was impressed...he thought I was being crewl when I told him that since he has a job he really needed to buy his sister a b-day gift. It took him a month to do that so to I was really pleased/surprised that he thought about doing anything for me...all on his own! LOL It's hard parting with your hard earned money when you are a kid! DH brought home flowers..not sure what kind but they are pretty. I did a little clothes shopping since work is sending me to Cleveland, OH in a few weeks and I have nothing appropriate to where in the colder climate and my friend Shelley that I went to EXPO with bought me a Cutterpede. Haven't played with it yet.....but I plan to soon!

Oh yeah, I got a personal email from one of my brothers....this meant more than you could imagine because I NEVER get to talk to him and from my eldest brother (15 years older than I am) an ecard that talks about how he's always teased me and given me a hard time, yada yada but now that we're older..................................................................... ..................

he plans to continue! Not the last line I expected but it was the perfect card from him! All in all..........it was a good birthday. Susan

Now that Susan has said hers........

Thank you all again for the cards. Thank you Patty for the gift it is great. Patty got me a 10minute scrap layout book and a book on stamping, some templates, very cool paper, and what looks to be shaker boxes kit. SO VERY COOL!!!!

I got an email from my brother as well. We used to be very close (with a 10 year age gap), but when he got married his wife got jealous that he spent time with me. I did not resent her or him for less time, but treasure the times I do get to talk to him.

I got the day off today, slept in, then took my son to sell popcorn for cub scouts. Not to mention the headache that you get from trying to total it all up at the end. Today was the last day and he needed $40 to be in the next category of prizes. He got $74. I then bought him a hat, went grocery shopping, came home, tucked him in, and settled in to watch "DreamCatcher". One of my friends let me trade the book for the movie with her. I was more impressed with the book. Now I am reading the news group while cooking dinner for DH who will be home from work in a half an hour at

12:30. He bought me a wireless network for my laptop though. I can now surf the internet and check the NG from anywhere that my network will reach.

With the wireless card and router I can walk anywhere within almost 2000 feet with my laptop and not have any wires attached. My desktop plugs into the same router and I have a network between the two. I also plug the cable modem into the router and yippee I can go sit on the front porch and surf the net and check the NG. It is great.

I've got one of those! It's the best!!! Right now, I'm on my family room floor with the wee one...

in the summer, I loved being outside on the deck reading the group!
