OT: bowling trip! more pics to scrap!!

Well, someday I might get a little breather for myself..when that will be, who knows? I still have a 12-6x6 pages project to get done by the end of the month..eeek!!! Not to mention our challenge here...oh boy... This weekend I took my boys to Bloomington IL, for the YABA State bowling competition. They bowl in a youth league on Saturdays, and a whole group of kids from their bowling center entered state competition. It's an all around fun weekend, and this was our third year of participating, and Andrews first time competing. There was a special guest star yesterday in attendance at the bowling alley. Famous Pro Bowler, Norm Duke was there, and he autographed pictures of himself for all the kids, talked to them about their techniques, and personally sold 50/50 tickets to everyone, to raise YABA scholarship money. I got to meet him too, and he is very nice, and much shorter in person than I have seen him on TV! I was really impressed with his love of the sport, and his kindness and patience with the young bowlers. The boys both bowled pretty good, Ryan usually does better at competition than he does in regular league play! His average was 142 going in, and he bowled good in the singles...209-213-166! WOW he was very pleased with himself! Andrew did the best yesterday in his doubles 137-106-94 he only has an 89 average! I bought the pictures they had taken there, as I forgot my camera!! can you believe that??! shame on me!! haha!!!oh well....some other parents took pics too, so I can get some from them. It was a fun, but tiring weekend. I am looking forward to a slower paced week this week! :-)

Hi Linda, Norm Duke is a very nice Gentleman! My Brother is a Professional Bowler and has over 300, 300 games. His name is Rudy "Revs" Kasimakis. You can see a profile of him on PBA.com. I love bowling my family has been bowling for many, many years. My Dad was a Bowling instructor years ago when we were kids. He gave up the sport about 4 years ago as he now has Parkinson's Disease.

When you get the pictures posted I would love to take a peek at them and I am so glad that you and the kids had a GREAT time. God Bless, Dorothy in NY

Breather? What's that? LOL Sounds like it was a great trip for you and the boys. My dad used to go bowling when I was a kid (somewhere between 5 &

7 yrs old) and he would sometimes take my sister and I. I remember how Dad would get the lightest ball he could find for me. I couldn't hold it in one hand, so I would carry it in my arms, walk down to the lane, drop the ball, and push with all my might. LOL I don't remember ever making a strike...wonder why? LOL My sister and I mostly went because Dad would buy us each a root beer. LOL
