trip to Penn.

A quilter friend, my sister and I just returned from PA where we toured the quilt show in Lancaster and visited an aunt in New Holland. We had a super time and wore ourselves out shopping both Fri. and Sat. We also enjoyed lots of wonderful local foods at their huge buffets. We loved the scenery of huge farms and horse-drawn buggies. I attended on Thursday! It was a great show and I enjoyed it. Can you explain to me why there is a separate "renegade" show held across the street? I'm just curious....

Politics. It has something to do w/ the managers of the quilt show. At one time, they appeared to be playing favorites w/ the vendors that were allowed in to the main show. So all of the other vendors started renting space across the street. Last year was the first year that they were set up in the hotel rooms along with the meeting rooms!

And this year, a few of the "regular" vendors in the main show weren't there. There's one from NY (I think) that always had the quilters taffy - she wasn't there. I love her fabrics! I missed her...

Nice show. I liked a lot of the quilts. Not near as much embellishment as in Hampton. Liked that, too! grin

I enjoyed the vendors "across the street" more than the ones in the Host Hotel, and admission was free! Just by coincidence, I recently moved to the Lancaster area from Yorktown VA, where I used to attend the Hampton Show.
