Penn State Chucks

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with Penn State "Utility" chucks.

I'm relatively new to turning, but have advanced to the point where I'd like to add a chuck to my arsenal. I'm looking for a decent chuck at a decent price, something I can mount to my shopsmith for now, but that I can use with a dedicated lathe in the future.

Thanks in advance Gregory

You aren't going to want to hear this, but...... *ducking*

I got the Oneway Talon for my shopsmith and loved it.... when I went to a Jet mini, I paid $20 for the adapter and was in business...

I later got a larger Jet lathe and use the same chuck.. Actually shopped around earlier this year for a 2nd chuck and bought another Talon...

IMHO, You might save a few bucks now, but you're going to buy a better chuck eventually so why be frustrated with a cheap one now?.... YMMV Mac

I have one and it is okay and will get the job done. I needed a second chuck so I went with the Barracuda2 and it is much better. Using the chuck key is easier that the tommy bars. You also get two more sets of jaws.
