OT: Chocolate party and a recipe

The ladies party on Saturday was blast. (Kenda, you really should have gone, you would have had fun.) Our hostess bought everybody a "Chocolate Moose" It's this moose stuffed animal, with "Chocolate Moose" stitched on his tummy. It's so cute!! And his nose smells like chocolate. LOL She bought out all the WalMarts in her area, plus two small towns right outside of Little Rock, plus one in North Little Rock. LOL I can't share much more details than that. We got a little goofy and crazy, and decided that what happens at the party, stays at the party....kind of like going to Las Vegas. Plus, this way our familes will still let us get together! LOL

Although, I did feel like an idiot when I left. Our hostess lives on the outskirts of town, and there's this small ditch that runs along the street, either side of their driveway. I've been to this house numerous times, I know about the darn ditch. I managed to back into it Saturday night.

*hangs head in shame* I was in tears, feeling so stupid. My drivers rear tire was like 4 feet off the ground! Her hubby came out before I even got back to their door and got me out. While he was getting me out, I was inside crying while my friend consoled me. My DH wasn't mad, just wanted to make sure I was ok. No damage to the SUV, except a little dent in the bottom frame. Not enough to get excited about. I was more embarrassed and feeling stupid than anything. And no, we didn't have any liquor at the party! LOL Just coffee punch. Gotta get that recipe to you all, too.

Our hostess made up bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken bites...both on skewers, with a chocolate-chili-BBQ sauce. Then her hubby grilled them outside, in the cold, with a coat on. Very good hubby. LOL But they were oh so good! Once I have the recipe, I'll have to share it. Unless we have a chocoalte theme recipe swap after the New Year, then I'll have to save it for the swap. :-) (Hint Hint Kenda!)

I brought a dessert called Oreo Freak Out. I have quite a bit left in the freezer if anybody wants to come over for some! Friday night, I finally figured out a salad to take, but by then, I had the Oreo Freak out made and it was pointless. DH makes a spinach/mandarin orange/walnut salad. Kenda had it at our last stamp camp. Anyways, I finally realized on Friday night that the salad would be good with some shaved white chocolate on top. DUH! Maybe next time, or I'll try it soon and do it for a chocolate themed recipe swap. (2nd hint Kenda! LOL) But I thought I would share the Oreo Freak Out recipe with you all.

Oreo Freak Out

1 lb 2 oz pkg Oreos 3 Tbsp butter 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream 1 pint hot fudge sauce Chopped peanuts or pecans 12 oz non-dairy topping (Cool Whip)

Crush 2 rolls of Oreos and mix with the butter. Line the bottom of a 9" x

13" pan with the Oreo and butter mixture. Slice the vanilla ice cream and place on top of Oreo mixture. Warm the hot fudge sauce to spreadable consistency and spread over vanilla ice cream. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and spread the Cool Whip on top. Crush the remaining roll of Oreos and sprinkle over Cool Whip. Freeze. Remove from freezer 30 minutes before serving.

Note: I couldn't find a 12 oz container of Cool Whip, so I used a 16 oz container. It worked fine. Probably had a thicker layer of Cool Whip than the original recipe comes out, but it was yummy yummy yummy!

We have too much fun sometimes. LOL I cried almost all the way home, scared to death DH would be upset. Now, he's never ever ever EVER done anything that would make me think that, so it must have been my own paranoia. LOL I was able to laugh about it yesterday, though. I didn't feel so bad after my friend told me about the lady who pulled into the ditch, centering the car in the darn thing...during the day. At least I had an excuse...it was dark! LOL

I'm all for a chocolate recipe swap, too! After the holidays, of course.

Sounds like you had a good time, minus being in the ditch of course! I think I would have cried all the way home too.

The Oreo Freak Out sounds really good. I'm up for a chocolate recipe swap too.

That looks like a great recipe! My summer holidays start this Friday so now doubt I'll have time to try making this treat!

A chocolate recipe swap would be great fun :)
