OT: Down & out and Emergencies too

Well I know I have been missed past several days, and no I haven't been on the road, just the outs!!

Reading posts this morning and wow is all that I can say. Ya'll have been yakking away and so much going on.

That is what is up with me. I almost lost my baby, Misty, my Tonkinese who is 6 1/2 on Wednesday. She had a vein break in her head and I had to rush and FIND a vet who then had to do emergency surgery on her. I was so distraught and angry, another story, that all I ould do was cry and had a seious nosebleed (bp) and headache The vet herself called me as she was starting surgery then when she was out.

Late Wed evening I got to go get her and bring her home. She was still out of it for the most part, but like we know for US, the vet said it would help her more if she was with me. Well that night I did not sleep to say th eleast. My headache would have limited that anyhw.

Well all day Thurs she was very lethargic still. I was not sure what to do, except stay with er. My other old biddy, well she has now taken on a nastier attitude and tried to even attack Misty. i was even more upset and mad. Anyhow Fri morning early I noticed she was having swelling again on the side of her head, so called vet.

I had to take her back and they had to drain out the buildup, plus her temp was way high. She was given a shot and double dose of the antibiotis I have to give her. I kept her with me thru most of the night till she started to become normal be gripng that the bedroom door was closed.

I was so happy!!! The vet said if she was not better Sat morning to bringher back, but I guess te shot and meds worked. So today she is abot normal. meowing, loving on me, wanting affection nad food. Which at this point I do not feel is a good ide because all she is doing, worse than the biddy, is chucking it everywhere - aaarrgghhh!

I still have the temperment of Buffer to figure out and gotta watch her. They have ever been close but it is really bad right now. Like bringing a adult cat into the house with another adult cat!!

I am personally doing better but my stomach troubles have really been bad too. Danged dr and I are going to have a discussion here really soon. eating various ant acids all day is not cuttngit, plus I am losing weight because I am to thepoint I do not want to eat either as it just kills me.

Vet(s) told me that Misty can stand to miss a few meals too as she is so "loved!!"

Anyhow sorry this is long and thanks for thoughts and prayers. Besides ya'll in here, my furbabies are my "family!"

{{{{Dave}}}} Sure hope you & Misty both feel 100% soon! And that your 2 fubabies patch things up. The other one may just not like the smells that Misty came home from the vet with, hence treating Misty as an "intruder".

How nice of the vet to call you both before & after the surgery.

:::sending healing thoughts to both of you:::

Dave I am so glad that Misty is on the mend, I know how stressful that must have been for you. After some initial hissing, Nuku will not come anywhree near Radar right now. I think they can smell that the other is sick and have an instinctual reaction to it. As for you, you go and give that Dr a pice of your mind! He needs to take better care of you! If you lose more weight we won't be able to find you to throw things at you!

Oh Dave so sorry to hear about Misty! I would have been beside myself! I will keep you all in my thoughts and I feel so badly that you are not feeling well. Sounds like you need to be on Nexium. I have been taking it for years. Maybe you have GERD. What ever, I hope they help you soon. Hugs, Sab

WOW Dave you've been through a lot. It is really scary when one of our babies isn't well. We went through a bad spell with our golden retriever this summer. We had her fixed. When she came home she was so sick. She was up chucking bile. It was so gross. I had to pick her up and carry her to the truck. And let me tell you she's heavy. That was so hard. Well, she had an infection and was dehydrated. It cost 650.00 for a day and a half. I about crocked. Thank god the spay and neuter clinic that fixed her paid for it. I would have paid it anyway. What else are you to do take them home and let them die. Well, I'm glad your baby is on her way to recovery. Now for you................ get into that doctor and let them do some tests. Maybe you need your gallbladder out or something. Or better yet could be stress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you are getting some sleep and your headache is better.

Hugs!!
