Still down (for now), but not out... yet.

First of all we had an extremely hectic weekend. Saturday Matthew and his girlfriend were in the mall in the nearby city with her little 3 year old son when her parents ran into them. They absolutely detest Matthew and caused a scene by ranting and yelling in one of the stores... to the point that they were asked to take it outside. They also resorted to name-calling at Matthew, and announcing that he was crazy and wasn't right in the head in front of everyone. I guess this is their idea of "good Christian behaviour" that they always preach about. *shrug*

After that Matthew, his girlfriend and her son came here to the house for supper and hung around watching TV for a while... the little guy invited himself to sit on my knee and play a computer game. He was relaxed and content... then Matthew's girlfriend's parents phoned and started ranting and raving at her loudly again (I could hear them even though the phone was against her ear) and the little boy got a sad look on his face and went to his mother asking "What's wrong mommy, why are you crying?" After a while she decided to take him home because his Easter treats were in her bedroom closet and some in her mother's bedroom closet, and she hoped that he could have a somewhat normal Easter.

Matthew and I had hoped to spend a quiet day together, and go to the cemetary to visit my parents' gravesite like we normally do on Easter. However, in the morning his girlfriend called again and said her mother was on the rampage the entire night, ranting and raving and talking about how it would be better if she were dead.... and she refused to get the little boy's Easter treats out of her bedroom closet. So basically she was punishing an innocent child because she was mad at his mother. *shakes head* Rather than have a little child have a stressful and unhappy Easter, I invited them to come to our house for the day and have dinner with us, which they did. Everything was fine and the little boy was happy and playing with his mother, Matthew and our two dogs.... then her parents phoned again just as supper was being dished up to scream at her some more and told her that she was kicked out and had to get her things that night. Nice... of all days to kick your child out.. on Easter Sunday.

A couple of hours later they sent her a text message on her cellphone saying that she could have three days to move out. She rented a U-Haul and drove it to her parents home (asked permission first) and had me drive her jeep behind her and park a couple of laneways away. When they parked the U-Haul and started walking toward the jeep her father came out and was coming directly behind Matthew yelling at him in a threatening and demeaning manner, name-calling again. She and her son stayed at our house that night... and the plan was to have a police escort there when they went to move the stuff out to the U-Haul the next night and I would pick Matthew's best friend up after work so he could help with the bigger stuff. She was going to rent a storage unit until she found a place to rent. The next day her parents contacted her and asked for her to come to talk that night instead of moving out... they told her she could stay until the end of the month while she was looking for a place... her father offered to pay her back for the rental cost of the U-Haul if she took it back that night instead of packing it up to move out. She took Matthew (who still insisted on a police escort being there... smart guy) with her for the talk, and I was in the jeep (I refuse to go into her parents' home after the nasty emails I have received from them about Matthew) to drive while she drove the U-Haul back to the rental place. Talk about soap opera dramas! Jeesh!

Gemini, you don't have to explain yourself or address somebody else's nonsense. Just know that you are cared for and loved in RCTY.

Prayers, positive thoughts and vibes to you, dear lady.

hi Gemsy,

Now you know, you don't have to explain anything to anyone, what you do is your concern, not other peoples, whilst knowing that all of us have a right to express our opinions, I draw the line at slander.

However I'm hoping that you and C will now get on, gosh she's had a lot to deal with in life too hasn't she? P'raps she prefers you to her own parents Gem. Glad you were able to help out especially with the little one.

Now don't you go fretting about what people say...sticks and stones girlie..

hugz Cher

Gem, explanations not necessary! I for one, know how proud you are, and I DO know that you've never ever asked any of us for a dime! Love, Noreen

Gem!! ::major hugs:: Glad you're still reading, and hope arrangements work out with the utilities. Been there, done that, T-shirt, etc. - I know how hard it is when you keep slipping over the edge, and just barely manage to crawl back each time before the Big Fall. Exhausting and scary as hell, especially when you have health problems on top of it all. We'll all keep praying that you keep hanging on, and Disability eventually comes through so you can at least catch your breath. I've been thru *that* merry-go-round, too, as you know. Have a couple other friends who've been going through the same thing for the last few years. (bureacracies, feh. someone with MS, in a wheelchair, who has the use of only one arm, and has been evicted after a hurricane - due to a scum of a landlord, not because the place was blown away - doesn't qualify for disability and other assistance? WTF?! sometimes friends are the only ones who *will* help.) My heartfelt sympathies on waiting for the bureacracy to make up its mind. Eventually, hopefully they will work it out. In which case, if the Canadian set-up is similar to ours, you *should* get a lump sum dating back to when you first filed, which should help immensely. I'll keep fingers crossed that it works out that way for you!

As to explanations to *anyone*, fuhgeddaboudit. The gang here is your support group. You're got lots of friends here, you just keep on talking to us; forget anyone else. RCTY was a big help for me, too, although I dumped even more of my worries on the bunch I chat with every Sunday. I had a crazy lady too, at that time in my life, before things thankfully turned around. Ignore, ignore, ignore. I know, it's hard, but it's all in *their* mind. If someone has problems with you, they can take the same simple solution we should do with them - don't read the posts! We skip over posts we're not interested in anyway. Tell yourself it's not worth the stress, and Don't. Pay. Attention. This person does not exist to you. My particular bete noire was unfortunately someone who lived in the same city, and before I knew she had the lovely habit of going off her meds, we'd actually gotten together several times. Which in retrospect, makes me rather queasy at what could've happened. When she cut loose, it was very obvious it was jealousy - and a lack of medication - that was fuelling things. Which was funny, because financially she was a helluva lot better off than I was...but she was jealous of *any* help I got, from anyone. Even family! I can only presume it was because I had people offering, and she felt she didn't. Or something like that. She reacted to my friends helping out as if I was trying to extort money from *her*, which was totally wacked. (I never asked her for any help. and she never offered any, so I dunno how she twisted that around. maybe she *wanted* me to ask. no idea, as I'm not a professional.) Me, I was just grateful to my friends, and now pass it on when I can - just like you will when things get better for you. Some people can't understand how simple it is, I guess, or what real friends do.

Anyway, for safety's sake, because my bete noire scared the hell out of me, I cut off *all* contact. And I can tell ya, if she ever turns up on my doorstep for any reason whatsoever, I'm calling the police. I know it's hard, like trying not to watch a train wreck, but try to just skip past that stuff. You've got enough problems in real life. Forget things trying to knock on your door in virtual life. Remember, it's just electrons, and you don't have to let them in.

Monica, I am *SO* happy to see you back... I have missed you bunches girlfriend. I hope you stay with us now and don't wander off again. ;o)

Thank you for your insight into this. No worries, I have blocked the troll and only saw her crap this time around because some of it was left in other people's responses. I am not going to let it get to me... I have more important things to think about.. good and bad. Yes, I do remember what you went through with Disability, and I am glad that things have worked out for you.

I have your blog in my favorites to go back and read at leisure. I am doing the same with all my online friends when they post their addresses.

*hugs back at you* Gem

Then everyone here really needs to stop responding. That way you won't have to see it! :)

Hang in there Gem! I've only known you for a few months and you're already precious to me.

Pamjam

Gem, no explanations are necessary. You just do what you need to do, and we'll be here for you.

Gem,

I was SO thrilled to see you back here when I checked on today!! I think Donna said it all ... you don't need to explain yourself to anyone -- and especially not here or to us 'cause you are loved and cared for here. The troll isn't part of the family, so we can all just forget about her.

I send you hugs and love and keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please don't stay away unless you can't help it!!!!!! Eve :o)

Thank you, Eve! :o) I will try not to stay away... unless I really can't help it (healthwise included).

*hugs* Gem - who wonders if we are related... we have the same nose! See ---> :o) hehehe

Gem, You didn't have to explain anything. It is your private business. I'm just glad you are back!!!

Hi Gem,

It was great to see you here when I started reading today after the eyes got almost back to normal. Everyone else in this family has said it all, you don't need to explain anything you don't want, but when you do we are all behind you 100%. Continued prayers going your way.

Hugs,

Nora
