Regarding Jane B and Gem

Okay everybody..... Gem says she's going offline, so she won't likely see any messages by the bitch Jane. My suggestion to ALL of you - filter the bitch and DON'T reply to one word it has to say. FREEZE it out. Do NOT give it any satisfaction, because that's what it's looking for. It's up to you.

Thanks Shelagh, I thought I smelled a TROLL when I read that - I appreciate the warning. Being new here I wasn't totally sure about that post!! Warning headed!!

Shelagh,

I'd first thought it was a technical glitch when I read Jane's post. I'm so sorry to have learned that it wasn't.

K, now with the stupid question as I always seem to be posting here!!!! .... Is there a way to automatically block a particular user? I can certainly ignore her, but from your post, it sounds like there's a way to have the Board do it for ya automatically.

TIA, Eve :o)

Any stand-alone newsreader (Agent, Tbird, even m$) has a killfile feature, you just have to figure out where it is. Start with a right-click on a message from whomever you want to killfile and go from there.

If you're using Google and your browser, well, you get what you get...

Thanks, Wooly. Just figured out how to block her in OE, but that's just a reader and not inter-active. Am still trying the "talkabout" reader that Nora suggested for me this morning. Will see if I can block her there. To date, I've used only the Google/browser access.

Incidentally, while fooling around in OE to see if I could block her, I noticed that her addy is "jthell@...." Pretty funny and applicable, huh? LOL

Aye! I checked now and see how I got this wrong. Jane replied to jtheller's post, so her email showed up in OE rather than Janes!

SO sorry, Jenny! Eve :o)

Yes naturally there is a good way of automatically blocking postings you do not like. You just skip the tread, or posting, or if you opened it, you pass it by, do not react. Simple, do not even react and talk about it with the group. Ignore totally, just like little kids that are difficult. Go to the next thread and enjoy. We are all adults and ignoring post like these is the best way to go, you have to become your own sensor...nobody else can be responcible for that.

So where *is* the hole you hid in when you aren't posting with the "JaneB" persona? Do we know you from Yascrew:Knitlame? Do you attempt to be scathingly witty on any LJ communities I might read?

I suppose the best we can hope for is that you'll drown in your own bile. Gods know you have enough of it to kill an elephant.

You wish me dead. Duly noted.

I, on the other hand, wish a full, non-parasitic LIFE for both Gemini and Matthew, and I hope she lets go enough so that Matthew can start his if she chooses not to start her own.

Many here hear what I am saying, though they choose not to own up to it.

Matthew, love her enough to kick her out of your life.

Wow, I totally missed this entire thing! I hope things are going well for Gem. :( I know absolutely nothing about Canada's government programs, so I'm absolutely useless here, but it seems like a lot of you have that taken care of! Gem was so nice to me when I was around more often...one of the first to welcome me to the group too! I'll try and think of things to do for her. Has anybody thought of putting together a care package? Maybe we can send non-perishables, flourescent light bulbs (FANTASTIC idea...forgot who posted it), and other things? We can make a master list, everybody send like $5, and somebody can go out and purchase the items and then send them over. I would be the first to volunteer to organize all this, but my babies are keeping me on a strict schedule...a schedule that only THEY seem to know (which means total unpredictability and utter chaos for me).

As for this Jane person...I seem to recall somebody having trouble with her before. I guess she's still around? Well, I guess what she posted does sound kind of trolly, but maybe she really does mean well. Some people just don't have good netiquette and don't know how to word things well in text, so they're misunderstood all the time. DH had that problem for a while before I gently told him that things like sarcasm and facial expressions, tone of voice, etc don't translate well over emails! LOL

But I dunno. haven't gotten into that thread yet. Could be she really IS a bitter witch. :) *shrug*

So anybody up for sending stuff?

I think JaneB, that a number of us go back alot further than this with Gemini, way back to when she was the one whose shoulders people cried on, when she was the one dishing out parcels for those in need, with her own business, and a life that suddenly turned against her through a catastrophe of events I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Life is a bitch, and no ones is perfect. I don't think Gemini offloads on the group for sympathy, more so to put those of us who have known her well over ten years in the picture, she doesn't write cos she expects handouts or sympathy, that isn't her, and if you really knew her, you'd know that too.

However, as is everyone on here, you are entitled to your views, and expressing them, and goodness knows I speak my mind enough, rightly or wrongly on here, and so you should not be opinionated on because you have a view different to others.

The big ole clock is turning, and with it comes a new day...full of possibilities and enlightenment..

I hope yours is fruitful Cheers.....cher

You are too sweet Allaya - Jane does NOT mean well - it tries to stir things - and has already succeeded at that.

No, Jane is not being misunderstood. The best thing to do is put the messages from JaneB on "IGNORE", and most of all, do not reply to them.

Don't bother.

Yes? You do not know me, you do not know my motives or my qualifications to observe what I observe. Discerning people will see that you are attacking me because you want to, not because you know beans (because you don't) about who I am or what I'm thinking.

People have sent her money in prior (self-reported) crises, they will send her money in this crisis and they will send her money in future crises.

Your penchant for calling me nasty names says more about you than it does about me. And discerning people know that.

Jane B.

I guess the question to YOU, then, JaneB, is... why do you concern yourself with what Gemini does or does not do? You chastise Shelagh about being discerning, yet you are the pot calling the kettle black in this and other instances involving Gemini (and others who've also been the recipient of your 'opinions about them') I guess I grew up in the era of, if you've nothing nice to say, don't say it..... and quite obviously, you are of a different era/time. Pot, kettle. Nice of you to take offense when chided for assuming to know something about someone you've never met. Seems like you've done THAT before and been taken to task about it. Too bad you can't learn from experience.

Whereas, you and all the people rushing to support Gem's behavior HAVE met her....

Free advice: when you're in over your head, stop digging, lady.
