None at all today|! I cannot believe you lot are THAT quiet!
It's Thanksgiving Day!
Your cousins across the pond are a bit busy. Holiday stuff and all that implies. Speaking of which it's time to wake up hubby so he can get ready in time.
Have a good day Kate!

OK, then I'll put a question I wanted to ask for a while: Whatever became of the remodeled 1960s wedding dress, the one with stitched eyelets. I roamed your website, o wardrobe mistress of the chocolate buttons, but couldn't find any pictures of the happy bride. I have to admit, though, that I'm so out of touch that I'm very likely to have missed anything about it, So please don't kill me. ;-)
BTW, perhaps you remember our decoration project with one red wall in the bedroom and livingroom. It looks amazing and I'll put up some pics on my gallery site asap.
Another item is my wedding in church. It's going to take place this summer, and while we're at it, we'll have our little girl baptised. So I think I'll go for something in green linnen. A simple dress without sleeves and a blouse, something like a frock. I'm not sure how to describe what I've gotin mind, but I'll put up pics for you once it's ready. Or whenever I need help. Anyway, I'd be grateful for any comments or suggestions on that matter. Gotta go now, Christine wants her lunch and mommy's indispensible for that - the down side of breastfeeding. But if you care to take a look at her - here you go:
ODD! I had at least one when I checked my news account. ;-)
All the pix I have are on the site. I must give her a call/send her a card, and see what happened. In the end I didn't have time to take pix of the completed gown, and she's forgotten to sent me any, so I will ask.
Ooh, yes please! A friend who has a Victorian terraced house has a red living room: it looks FANTASTIC! Very intimate and cozy. My sister also has a red living room: hers is huge, and has a polished oak floor and white furniture. WITH teenaged boy sons in the house, and a dog! One does not mess with mama in that house, not when she'd a CID Inspector! ;)
She also has a boring beige bedroom (how's that for alliteration!), which is to be jazzed up by new wall paint in a dusky pink and a pile of red and gold floor cushions and a giant patchwork bed quilt all in deep reds and golds with accents of blue, to blend in with her Turkish rug they bought last summer.
That sounds like a PLAN! And an excuse for a Big Party for the family! Your wedding dress sounds cute and unusual: nice to see a change from the ubiquitous Big White Dress!
Indeed it did! :D Babe and papa look lovely together - and curiously alike! ;)
The fibro has eaten all my brain cells and I'd forgotten! Have a grand day, all of you! I'm off to eat pain killers for lunch! ;)
Yeah, looking forward to it.
Yeah, I can imagine that. 'You're under arrest for deliberate leaving of footprints. I herewith sentence you to daily floor mopping for the next ten years!'
Now that sounds interesting. I bet that'll give her lovelife a definite upswing. A nice little hint of Bollywood/Turkish harem. A couple of red glass things to put little candles in will be the icing on the cake (or some such extravagant accessory.)
Good heavens! I'd be a bit embarrassed to wear white, with the baby crawling up the aisle behind me. Nah, not really, I'm just a fool for green and I look huuuuuuuge in white. (OK, I am huuuuuge, but one needn't draw additional attention to that fact.) And I'm pretty sure I won't lose any weight in the near future. OK, before I got pregnant, I was 133 kg, now I'm
128 kg. Not much of a difference, eh? Anyway, it seems that this has become a fashion in Germany, church wedding and baptism of the first couple of children in one. After all, if you wait long enough your own kids can carry your train and be flower girl/boy.Yeah, everybody says so, and I don't mind, as long as she doesn't sprout a beard like his. She's got lovely eyes of an indistinct blueish-grey colour, so we think that everything is still possible, from my steel grey to daddy's chocolate brown, not to mention green. We'll see. Plus, we love her anyway, and he really dotes on her, she may pull his beard any time. ;-)
Bye for now,
U.
She has one of those Velux roof windows that opens up into a balcony type thing: looks out over the garden and surrounding countryside... She wants to turn that area into a 'Turkish Boudoir' as she puts it! I'm being paid for this one. :D
Well, it won't be the first wedding like that, nor the last! Time was when the bride wore an Empire Line dress and carried a huge bunch of flowers, you knew the happy couple had jumped the gun a bit! ;)
Just think of Leo McKern and his daughter Abigail...
Make the most of every minute - babies don't keep!

Don't worry, I'm doing the best I can, especially since we're training to go to bed early (baby). However, since kids aren't exactly what you might call perishable goods I hope that I'll be able to enjoy her presence in one or the other form for the next couple of decades. I have to admit, though, that the speed with which she grows is alarming. Fortunately, she's getting cuter and more cuddly every day. ;-)

I was here earlier this morning, but could only read, as I had to go do some more preps. Now, the turkey is in the oven, the dressing is ready to go there, the pie was made yesterday, plus some of the veggies - just have to reheat them in the microwave five minutes before mealtime - other veggies are ready to cook, table is set. The guests will be here two hours from now, and all we have left to do is peel, cook and mash the spuds and make the gravy.
Happy Thanksgiving, all in the U.S. (My daughter in the U.K. has already had Tday dinner, washed up and gone to bed).

Such a cutie! Emily
Ursula,
Breast feeding can aid weight loss - that's another upside of breastfeeding ;-)
I lost all the weight I gained during pregnancy and another 6kg.....

Tomorrow, I will probably be computer quiet as well since I have to run to the store, rent the truck, and purchase the rest of the supplies that we need - more sheet-rock, a door, the hardwood flooring, and some 2x4s to finish off the rafters and walls.
Will check in with you so you know I haven't gotten crushed by any of this nonsense!

No beards in MY pix those links lead to here...

Will this be the new sewing room?
Yes, please do! Nor nailed through a cable or water pipe...
Thankee! (We're really proud of her) ;-)

Not perishable in themselves but their babyhood is :-(
Exactly!
Again, make the most of it. It will get worse before it gets better :-)

At 13 and several inches taller than me, James is still up for a cuddle now and again. But he makes the most of being bigger than me when he can! On the other hand, as I tell him, the payback for being bigger than mum is to do all those things that need a few extra leg and arm inches...
