Gina, your cards are absolutely wonderful! They look professional! I hope you don't mind if I borrow some ideas. I could learn a lot from these!

Thanks, Sabrina! I'm hoping I'll be around for a while too. I don't have any friends here who scrapbook (although there are a couple I'm trying to introduce to it), so I'm really enjoying a chance to discuss my favorite hobby with some wonderful folks!

That scrapbooking bug is a terrible, terrible one. I took Tonya to a crop one night, and that was the last the normal world had heard from her. She is now in Scrapland.... hehehe.

Sorry that I made you add the last initial... If it makes u feel any better, I will add the J to mine. So what does your mel stand for. Mine is melissa, but since in the 70's that was like the most popular name, when I go to high school it was to confusing with 6 of us in home room. One of my friends that lived on the other side of the state, started calling me mel and it caught on.... That was 18 years ago and it stuck. Now everyone in my family even call me mel, and there are a lot of people at work that get really confused when you actually say Melissa, cuz they thought my name was melanie or melody... go figure.

The funny thing is that we both have a 6 1/2 month old... Mel K when was yours born? J.T. was born on 10/9. I missed you guys Sabrina.... I just finally got to where J.T. is on a schedule so that I have time set aside to check the newsgroup. Not to mention I check it at work ever now and again.... shhhhhhh... I'm not supposed to. Oooopsss.

Mel K. don't worry, if your friends have kids, and even if they don't for that matter, they will be addicted to it... Go to the creativememories web page, find a consultant in your area, and ask them if u could come to one of their crops. That is what I did. See I had to drive anywhere from 65-100 miles for scrap supplies since everything at our local walmart I already bought. I got there and realized that there was a couple of people that I knew, one that lived right up the street from me, and a bunch more friends that I got to meet. Not to mention that now I have a scrapbooking store that is very personable and will call my husband on every occasion to find out what I need for a gift... He can not shop ( he used to give me gift cards.) Now I have gotten many a people hooked on scrapping.

My name is Melissa, too. My college roommate started calling me Mel (in the

70's!) and it stuck. After that, the only people who called me Melissa were my family. It was a bit disconcerting not long ago to walk through the intake area at the local jail and hear someone holler "Melissa!" (Nobody there knows my full name.) It was my nephew, who was in a bit of trouble. Fortunately, I have a very sympathetic boss. I was tempted to use my email name as a screenname when I started here (it's what I wanted to name my first daughter, but I was overruled), but it isn't me. I'm glad I stuck to what everyone calls me. Except for the occasional deputy at work who insists on calling me "Kooch!" (long story.)

First -WELCOME Carlene!!

Second - WELCOME BACK Gina!! I remember you from before and glad to hear you are doing MUCH better and expanding your horizons, err is that gathering of other useful creative materials, better known as scrappin' stash!!

As for ALL the Mels,AAHH!! It is like the Jenns we had (have?) Anyhow great thread.

I am a male "creative photo placer" and collector of PAPER!!!! I have been doing it the new modern way for 3 years now, but actually been making and cataloging my pictures for better than 20 years. I have en in this group for three years now too which I think it the worst thing I did (ducking!) I retired from the Army, eek! almost ten years ago now! I served in Desert Storm and all of my carer always had a camera so still have a ton of pix to scarp the CORRECT way. They are all safe and sound out of those constructio paper albums I made not to mention the old magnetic ones!! I drive truck for Six Flags and the company actually does corporatte shows. I love it and get all over from time to time. As a result of that I have had the special opportunity to meet MANT in here!!! i reside in Oklahoma City.

LOL, Mel, I think the bosses all know that scrappers have to check in daily. I think the Melissa name was inspired by that wonderful song "Sweet Melissa" I believe that was the Allman bothers? I have several Melissas in my family of friends :-)
