OT: Getting to know you

I am 29 and work as a manager for Dell Technical Support. I have a wonderful husband a very active 10 yr old named Nick, and a 6 month old named Jayson. We have a very odd little beagle/ basset mix dog that adores the baby. I have been scrapping for 3 years and it is my release from the real world. Everyone knows when the radio is on in the office to leave me alone, unless someone is bleeding or the house is on fire. We live in the sunny, well right now totally saturated and almost underwater, state of Florida.

I am a "very" young retiree with a wonderful DH of 6+ years and a 26 yr old DS. I was in the Canadian Military for 25 years, enrolled as a private and retired as a major. In 1998 I moved to the US to marry my US born DH. While in the Tampa/Sarasota area of Florida, I worked for 2 of the world's biggest accounting firms in their computer departments. One of those firms no longer exist and 80,000 people worldwide were layed off because of the stupidity of a couple of guys in Houston! I'm sure you all know what I mean. So I retired a second time. I now maintain the RCS website, play with my friends, scrapbook, travel, read and even find time to get bored! LOL

Because of my DH's job, I am currently residing, at least till July 2006 in North Little Rock, AR. I am fortunate to have both Kenda and Deb living nearby to keep me out of trouble , well truth be told they help me get into trouble!

I'm 46 and work part-time at a scrapbook store. I have been a serious scrapper for about 2 years. I live in Southern California with my husband and one rather large cat named Buddy. My daughter, who just turned 22, will be graduating from college in May. Hubby and I enjoy movies, musicals, travel and spending time at Disneyland.

I am 27 years old and I work for a Large bank (not a local base bank unforuntately). I was working for a home town bank until a recent merge. The merge was not for the benefit of the customers or the employees. I am searching for a new job. I have a DH going on 8 years next month. We have no children (1 guardian angle Dylan). Hi! My name is Carlene. I am relatively new to scrapbooking...just started this past October. The reason I started was because we are building our first house and I wanted to do an album of the entire process. Since getting started I hooked up with a person from C.M. and have gotten involved in a few local "crops"....let me tell you...I'm HOOKED!

I live in Sunny SouthWest Florida (Fort Myers right now, moving to Lehigh Acres soon) with my boyfriend of 5+ years. We have 2 cats that are my pride and joy! Could not live without them! (him too...lol). I work in the accounting dept of a local non-profit community mental health organization and he works for a local disaster cleanup company (and boy were they busy this past year!! WOW). He has his hobbies and I've been forever searching for a hobby for myself...attempting every craft out there...and I've finally found the one I LOVE! He's so happy I finally have something and has been SO supportive...he got me a digital camera for xmas and SIZZIX with a complete alphabet set for Valentines! am I lucky or what!!

Anyway, don't want to ramble on too long...just wanted to introduce myself and say HI!

Carlene, that is so cool that you live in Ft. Myers/ lehigh Acres. My FIL lives in Ft Myers along with my SIL and the rest of the ILs. This weekend my father inlaw is coming up here, but in June we are planing on a visit down there. We should meet up and have lunch sometime.

Wow, I've learned so much about everyone, I feel like I haven't told anything about myself! I wasn't expecting such enthusiastic responses so I didn't post much info to begin with so here's some more.

I live in Northern Ontario (Canada) and just started scrapping 2 months ago. I've collected so much stuff that I have no idea where to start and I have yet to finish a full LO. Married 1 1/2 years, have a 6 1/2 month old baby girl and can't wait for another. Not too happy with my cashier's job in the real world, so I'm hoping to start a business before I have to go back to work in August. I have a million things going on at once and now Message Boards too! In the past few days I have learned that Message Boards are as addicting and time consuming as Scrapping, but I love it anyway! That covers most of it - now you know me as well as I know you.

Hi Melissa, I am 50 years old and live in Southern Indiana (watching the storms move in as I type) with my DH of 31 years and two of our 5 children (ages 8 & 12) who are still at home. The other 3 are out of the nest - ages 29,28, 21. I run a state licensed in-home childcare where I care for 8-10 children daily and love it - most of the time! We have 7 grandchildren who like nothing better than to visit grandma's daycare house - childproofed and full of fun things to do. I also mentor new childcare providers in the area. I've been scrapping for around 7 years. It is my release from the stress of my job and hetic life. Sandy

I'm Lynne from Northern California. I'm 44 and will be married for 18 years next month. I quit work 14 years ago to raise my children. I majored in Business and minored in Accounting in college. Worked in the corporate world for about 10 years and was SO ready to quit. Got tired of the "dog eat dog" mentality of it all. I'd love to sell crafts and with my new craft room I may be able to realize that dream. I have two pups. A 14 year old Shihzoodle and a Black Poodle. They are every much my babies as my kids are or at least they think so. I started scrapbooking I think about 4 years ago now. I've yet to finish one album for myself. I have about 5 in progress though. I really don't think of albums as finished as much as something that continues to grow.

I am a 32 yr old SAHM. I have a wonderful DH of almost 8 years and we have

2 children. DD is 6 yrs & DS just turned 4 yrs. (My babies aren't babies anymore!) We live in AR, but I'm originally from NM. I've been a serious scrapper for a couple years, or is that 3 years? I can't remember!

Other than being the head cook, dishwasher & maid (who I really have to fire...she's slacking on her cleaning duties!), and other wifely/motherly duties....I'm also a pastor's wife. DH is the Children's pastor at our church, so you'll also find me planning & organizing children's events, plus teaching. For stress relief, I scrap and I also do in-home stamping parties. I love helping others find their creativity! It's so nice to have Kenda & MC so close to scrap with!! I won't say we keep each other out of trouble, though, because it would probably be a lie. LOL

Welcome Carlene, It's great that you found something you like and have a supportive ppartner. My DH is also supportive, but is not comfortable buying me supplies. I wish he would be 'cause I think it would be great to get some as gifts. He does most of the photography and I scrap it. I think he takes wonderful picsw which makes it easy to produce appealing LO's. I think your gifts sound wonderful.

Hi Melissa, I am a SAHM by choice. I have two adorable daughters 4yr old and 5 yr old. My 5 year old scraps with me sometimes and the younger one is starting to show interest but has too much energy to sit that long. I have been married for almost 10 years to a wonderful (usually) DH who works in the IT industry as a subcontractor. I have a commerce degree so I get to do all his paperwork, otherwise I am waiting until my girls are older to work. I have been scrapbooking off and on for 6 or 7 years (I've lost count). I am also active in my church and enjoy working in my yard and garden (so I am hoping for good weather this summer). This past winter I also volunteered with Special Olympics. That was a very rewarding way to spend my Thursday evenings, I hope to be able to do it again next season.
