OMG KATE: Until you said there were kids involved with you job. I thought my ex-company had hired you for my old job.

Now my folks were not just inconsiderate they were DUMB. We wrote trouble tickets. There was a standard pattern to follow. NAH my folks had to be creative and do it their way so I had to go in and change them to the correct way.

I use to sit on my truck's tailgate and eat a Butterfinger and drink a Pepsi and cry. This was my hiding place. I even did it in snow with no coat.

All the staff idiots got bonus money but mine was left on the boss' desk. Of course, by the time he found it, the agency had no more money for that year to pay me. SURPRISE SUPRISE SURPEISE. It took him 6 months to pay me.

Could be worse, I brought in homemade Cole slaw for 20 only to find that the date was changed on my days off. No one could pick up a phone and call me?

I can top that. My boss called me at 0900 Sunday morning to tell me he forgot to inform me that my days off were changed. I needed to come to work right away. And the hours I would be late would be charged to my vacation time. I some how did not get that message until my shift was over. Legally, he had to give me two weeks notice, and could not charge me leave. But we had to have a fight over it. But I won that round.

They hired a gal who was to be my boss. I had to train her. HAHA. The first day on the job she told a customer, who only talked to me, that she was hired to straighten out the mess in the department. She also created unsupported software programs that we had to use to run our jobs. One of the programs would not work for me and me alone. That's because she would only give me access if I said something to her. She'd give access, and it would It would also send her a message every time I hit the enter button. The message was LEAH: I'm Sorry, I Love You dearly, DENISE. This went to a file. When she quit ALL of our jobs fail because they were in HER personal library and Security had lock out that account. DUH! At this point, the file was found and printed out. 136 pages of LEAH: I'm Sorry, I Love You dearly, DENISE. Which were passed ALL around the office. Only thing I could say was "Well it least it showed you I worked."

Small people have small minds. Ignore bullies. Eventually they get tired and go pick on someone else. Show no emotional response to them. That is what they want. You are the new person and they are the IN click-- Just like in high school.

Find out if there are any written procedures. If not, start writing your own. Keep a written log of what you are told, when you were told, and by whom. Let them know you are writing everything down but do it nicely. It's called CYA- Cover You Ass. Be the BEST employee they ever had. Keep the job until you can secure another one-- then bolt. But leave it in a nice way else they can stab you in the back with a nasty recommendation. Jobs are hard to find right now. There is a place for you somewhere.

Also, schedule some alone time where you can meditate not on the job but calming yourself and releasing their poison. Even if it is just 10 minutes. Leave your troubles at the car door. When you go in the house you are a happy person that wants Sarah to know Mommy is home ready for a happy time.

is home ready for a happy time.

Sarah is my niece.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don't have kids yet just three wonderful nieces.

Kate

PS I had a good morning thus far. I told my supervisor she was a liar since it was the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR who told me about a staff meeting. She insisted she told me via eMail and in person. No eMail and she couldn't have told me on Friday because I was't here. LOL
