Postal employees

I was wondering..Does anyone ever get an "attitude" from a postal employee when you are mailing out a swap? Like its a bother to them to figure out what the postage is going to be for the return envelope inside, and selling and counting out the stamps for the return envelope is a real chore. We have two ladies and two men who work in our PO and both men always give me a "oh brother!" look when I tell them how I want to buy my postage. The ladies are always very nice. I am actually thinking of going to a different PO because of it. It probably wouldn't do any good to complain to anyone, because one of the men is the Postmaster, and the other one needs to retire! Just curious!

I always put the same amount of postage it took me to mail mine plus maybe a little more. I don't mess with the post office.

I have one lady that I've always griped about. My mother, on the other hand, has had no probs w/ her. She's not done any mailing (swaps) like I have in the past though. When I get in line I just hope I get the other window, if there's two open. Mine truely is a small town. I know now, thougth, that she's real curious why I buy so many international stamps, I trade atcs all over the world. I can see it on her face, but she never asks.

Yeah I get that sometimes too. Like they even have to wet them any more. They are all self stick. Plus they are getting paid to do it. So what. One gal acted like it was a scavenger hunt going from postal clerk to postal clerk looking for a 1 cent stamp.

Shannon, how do you know how much postage to put on it if you dont take it to the post office to be weighed? Linda

I had thought about that, but its just not worth it. I am not the arguing type, and I was really kind of venting when I wrote that! But I do think they can be rude at times. Maybe I need to catch them earlier in the day, and not a half hour before closing.. LOL Thanks for the info though! Linda

I have even suggested to them to just tell me how much it is and I will put my own stamps on it! I agree...they are getting paid to do a job, even if they dont like it.

I do very little business with the post office. I mostly priority ship and do that online so that I can get free tracking. I also just tuck in a self addressed priority envelope for the hostess to send back to me and it seems to have worked ok. However I agree that it would be terrible to always be treated badly when I went to the post office. I have to say that I've never had a real problem when I have gone in.

You'll better move here. I have two post offices Affton and Lemay MO, each about 10 minutes away. Both are super nice. I mailed out some geneology forms with a returned stamped envelope to out of state relatives. Some of the envelopes had pictures of the recent flood and some didn't.

There were 12 sets of envelopes and none had the same thing in them. My PO guy was real efficient and even joked that these packages had some weight to them. I make paper bowles and they are feather light. I pay to ship the box. Really! I took one to the PO and weighed the box without the bowl. It cost the same to mail the box with or without the bowl.

I know what you mean Linda. It seems to confuse them when you say that you need to include the same amount of postage inside the envelope for the return. I even had one guy seal the envelope before I could tell him what I needed. I couldn't believe it.

I really miss Romeo at the South Pasadena post office. He is so nice and always has a smile and something nice to say to everyone.

I have a little food scale at home and I weight it then go on line like I'm going to buy the postage, enter the weight, and it will tell me how much.
