I put up 16 jars of sweet dill pickles today. I love harvest. :-) I am looking now for a pickled asparagus recipe... and a spicy pickled green bean... and pickled jalapenos.

Did I say I love harvest? :-) lol

TIA --- Where it all ends I can't fathom, my friends. If I knew, I might toss out my anchor. So I'll cruise along always searchin' for songs, Not a lawyer, a thief or a banker.

I have a sweet dill pickle recipe Sabrina! Actually, that's what I put up yesterday. In the jar, they have to be shaken weekly and can't be opened 'till Thanksgiving. Quite the tradition now, everyone is salivating 'till the jar is opened!!!

It's a family recipe, but I can send it to you if you'd like.... Do you have any 'secret' family recipes you can trade me? ;-)

Jen..I apoligise for asking something that you had already talked about..my dumb oldserver isn't giving me half of my posts lately :-( I just came over to Google and saw your posts. Yes ,I do have a "secret" family recipe. But then ,of course, I will have to swear you to secrecy. LOL My Mom would not even give it to me,but she didn't object when I wrote it down as she made it. It is a candy recipe. I will be delighted to send it. Hugs, Sabrina

I went to this bakery to do a Foccacia (very yummy pizza like bread) class. They made the best sandwiches from this bread. I was so surprised he was going to give the recipe away. In class someone asked if he minded giving out recipes for other things and he said no. Said he didn't believe in secret recipes, because no one can make his recipes as good as him. I thought what a funny way of thinking about recipes. I have a recipe that is asked for frequently and felt kind of funny about giving out. Now I give it out, cause I figure most people can't make it as good as me. So, I won't be replaced. :D They'll still need me to cook it for them.

The sweet dill is crispy and tastes like a dill with just a bit of sweetness. They are really good! I miss not having them, As far as I know,I have not seen a commercially prepared sweet dill. Now I am going to have to go in search of cucumbers to pickle ! lol

Sabrina :-)
