OT:PostConcert Review

I'm am sooooooo tired tonite. The concert was fantastic!!! We had such a great time! I really like that Big & Rich spoke up for battered women. They came across as feeling very strongly on the topic right before singing "Holy Water". It was so sincere and touching. Their "Save a Horse,Ride a Cowboy" song raised the roof. The coliseum went wild, a lot of audience participation which always makes for a lively good time. My youngest dd. was totally rocking out, and dancing like a wild maniac. Oh my God! And she is only four. I'll be in so much trouble with her when she's older. But watching her have such a blast was amazing. Gretchen Wilson was also fantabulous!!!! She has a voice that can carry so far. Her style is a lot like Tammy Wynette or Loretta Lynn in several of her songs. She did sing a few which she has written one of which was "Pocahontas", on the town where she's from, a nice tribute to her home folks. And several others which I can't think of at the moment. A favorite of mine is "Holding You Holds me together", makes me cry. The clips played throughout this song were of her and her little girl. And I can't help but feel the same about my youngest. She's what keeps me grounded. Crowd rose to a frenzy again, of course, when she did "Redneck Woman". She had several ladies from the audience come up on stage with her to dance on that one. "I'm here for the Party" was a live one too. There were several other singers that performed, all members of the MuzikMafia team. Many representations of music including softrock, rap, mostly country, a bit of soul, and jazz. It was an interesting combination to say the least. Up and coming with a new label was Don Nicholson, a sexy soulful singer, and another fellow(forgot his name). Near the end they did a nice family lounge seen which was really cool. They sang the National Anthem, which always gives me goosebumps. Their was also an artist on the far left stage painting a huge canvas of some part of the show. The whole concert was well over three hours of nonstop liveliness. I didn't stay for the finale. They were going to sing until they got kicked out. I didn't get to see the finished canvas, which I really would've liked to see. But it was going on 11:30 and I had to work today, and still had the four year old up and out of bed, and a grandbaby to pick up from the sitter's. Pictures? not a lot. I was far enough back on the risers I wouldn't have gotten very good shots, and they didn't want us to use a flash, and I don't have a zoom lens yet. I did get the curtain with it's tour logo, and some preconcert pics while we were waiting, as well as some very expensive t-shirts. It was awesome though! And now I get to eat ramen for two weeks. So if ya get a chance and enjoy the music, Go see 'em. Wooooohoooooo!!!! or is that Yeeeehaw!!!!

absolutey!!!! Seeing the music through the eyes of my four year old was the best part. It was one of those credit card commercials. YOu know. Concert tickets, $120 (there were four of us). Parking at coliseum $4. Three had to have t-shirts, $90. One large soda $3.95. Picture of Big & Rich, $5. Picture of Gretchen Wilson $5. Watching my youngest dd experience a live concert for the first time, Priceless.

I think I've just talked myself into a layout.

I was just thinking the same thing :) I downloaded a font from the internet that is a barcode. If you would like it just let me know. I saw a layout in a magazine that I have that uses the priceless thing with the barcode font.

I am so glad that you had a great time. What an experience for a 4 year old. You must have spent as much time watching her watch the concert as watching the concert itself!

I'd have to see that to get the image of how to use it. Where'd you see the layout, do you remember?

Yeah, and so did everybody else around me. You'd have to be stone cold dead not to appreciate the scene. I wish I had had a video camera to get the looks of everyone's faces around me, and catch her in action. I can not fully relay to you in words. It just makes me want to cry......good tears. It is now one of my most treasured memories.

thanks Lynne. I've got so many ideas jam packed in my head right now. And not enough hours in the day to get them all out as fast as I'd like.

Sounds like a LO to me! (I great one, too.) Also sounds like the concert was a blast. Reminds me of taking DD to see "Cats" last year. It was her first time to see anything on stage and watching her amazment was just priceless.

Sounds like everyone had a really great time. Especially your four year old. I have a four year old also. I worry too how wild he's going to be when he grows up. It's bad enough now. Thanks for sharing your experience.
