OT: What Is Everyone's Favorite Christmas Songs?

It was on a silly Christmas CD called "Twisted Christmas", there are more titles like "We Wish You Weren't Living With US", "Wreck the Malls", "A Visit from St. Nicholson"(Jack Nicholson), "A Message from the King"(Elvis), and many other interesting ones. The Twelve Pains included such things as Christmas cards, Christmas lights, and Christmas shopping. First time we heard on the radio, DH couldn't stop laughing. It's good if you want a laugh for Christmas Stress.

I am a Christmas freak, just love the season and the fact that people are so much nicer to each other when they are in the Xmas spirit! Love all the songs but O Holy Night always gives me chills.

What about Christmas movies? I just love Miracle on 34th Street (both versions), A Christmas Carol (any version just love Scrooge becoming a nice guy)

I love - Mary Did you Know by Kenny Rogers and Wynnona (don't know how to spell her name)

When I was growing up we listened to Nat King Cole and Gene Autry so I love anything by them just about. I love Christmas music and a radio station I listen to started doing Christmas music a little over a week ago.:-)

Belleau Wood - Garth Brooks

For those who have never heard it, it's about soldiers and a Christmas truce during a war...very touching and poignantly relevant this year with all that's happening in the world.

One of my favorite Garth songs. Always makes me wonder how my grandfathers must have felt on the battlefield at Christmas.

I'm partially to all versions of a Christmas Carol, I have collected off TV all but the oldest ones and the BBC ones that haven't been here in US. I also like all the old children's claymation type shows. Have most of these on VHS.

Be careful downloading music....I hear there are some lawsuits out there due to the music industry not making as much money because of that kind of thing. Read it in the paper...can't remember exactly when or which one. s

Silver Bells --- I have fond memories of singing this in all the old peoples homes and at the Myer Centre every Christmas when I was in school Choir.

Just an FYI... "Mary Did You Know" was actually written by Mark Lowry, the Christian comedian. He (up til just recently- like the last year or so) was also a part of the Gaither Vocal Band. I really like that song too...
