What is your favorite color

Jul 16, 2007 26 Replies

We just had a thread on what we collect, and many of us are collecting specific kinds of prints or specific colors of fabric for one quilt idea or another. But most of us never really have to collect our favorite color because it nearly jumps into our hands whenever we are shopping for fabric, clothing, or even interior house paint. So, what is your all time favorite color?

Mine is royal blue. Debra in VA See my quilts at

I think probably a greeny-blue or bluey-green. Doesn't matter what proportions, or how light/dark; but, yes, I think that must always be my first choice, if I have to have just one! . In message , Debra writes

PURPLE!!! :)

Just about all my clothes are purple (shirts, anyway) and the walls in my house extrapale lavender, and my IE setup is purple too. ;)

I'm a member of the green team. but that is not just one color, it is many different colors all of which fall under the label of green, from deep rich forest green, through the Kelly/emerald greens and into the yellowy, limey greens.

Red. Absolutely. It causes me to make some very garish quilts. It's also the color I just gravitate toward. If I'm not mindful of that, I end up with a closet full of red clothes.

Pati, I agree with you. Green is my color, all shades and variations, it was also my maiden name ;-). I just love the Spring when the greens start to brighten with every morning. Yes, definitely green!

Turquoise and all southwest shades like peach, sand, pale green (and I really dislike green).

Lime Green - is there any other color? It's a neutral for me. I just had to purchase an additional yard & a half of a batik lime green for a project I'm working on. The lady at the LQS said if I took the end of the bolt, I could save 25% - it was only 4 yards - & heck - it's LIME GREEN - one can never have enough lime green:)

Let's talk..I've been collecting for a specific project and we may be able to 'help' each other with our acquistions.

Butterfly (you know what to do)

That makes 2 of us:)

Butterfly ( all dark shades especially)

Anything pastel..... and I adore lime green.

(I guess I could have signed this for pete's sake!)

Green. No, purple. No, green. No, purple. No, green. No......... red??? LOL I *love* all intense, deeply saturated colors. Can't handle much in the way of pastels, but do use them when needed for lovely contrasts. My favorite colors that have me drooling 'right now' are-

guess I need to buy several yards of each so I can decide??? Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.

I think any one (or all) of those would be a suitable "I'm all better" present! You deserve them just for following doctor's orders so well.

If I had to pick one colour it would be purple, but in reality it's the spread of colours from claret through purple to deep pink.
