Provocraft Silet Setter ?

Does anyone have one of these eyelet setters? I'd like to find out how easy they are to use and if they work as promised before buying one. Is it easier to use than the hammer method? Thanks

I got one from my secret santa and i have to admit I love it. Although it requires a little more upper body strength to squish the eyelets down, it saves me from waiting for a commercial to bang away at the traditional one -- especially during my husband's beloved American Idol, Apprentice, Survivor.

It also works well when I'm scrapping at the library.

I recommend you buy both just incase you have an annoying eyelet that won't go down now matter how hard "The Rock" pushes. LOL

Thanks Kate! It sounds like it will be a useful addition to my scrapbooking gadgets.

I have one and I use it a lot, but I did keep my old hammer and setter for those stubborn ones! Some are just not as easy to set as others. You still need a firm surface to work on to be able to set them. Linda C

I really wanted to get one in December and literally decided against it at the till. As I understand it, you can't use any eyelet on them only the "softer" type. I don't really mind using my MM kit. I don't use eyelets on all my LO's, so the odd occasion when I have to bang, is okay :))

I've used all types of eyelets with mine and haven't had problems. Some of them are a little harder, but they still set fine. I really like not having to pound them with my hammer...my dog likes it too!!

My scrapping pal has the silent setter and I too thought it was something I wouldn't want to own. I didn't like that I had to stand up and lean into it for each and every eyelet to get it to work. Like you I use eyelets seldom and I'll just bang away.
