Question

Welcome Fred & Maurinda! Has nothing to do with age, really! D does mean dear (or any other applicable D word!) and RAK stands for random acts of kindness.

I had trouble with LSS too and then figured that one out eventually and NSSSS showed up and had to finally ask what the heck it was. I think it stands for "Not So Secret Scrapbook Sister." Did I get all the "S's" right?

Nothing to do with age it is a whole other lauguage. So, jump in and have fun with us.

As for abbreviations the "D" usually stands for "Dear or Darling". "RAK" is "Random Act of Kindness". This is when someone may choose to send something to another on the newsgroup "just because". It is not the age difference, as to not knowing what all the lingo is. It took me ages to figure out what everything meant. Like "LSS", which stood for "Local Scrapbooking Store".

I hope you two enjoy yourselves here, so feel free to ask questions and share ideas.

Thanks, Dawn. I should have figured that out. Also thanks to all others that responded. Maurinda has been collecting supplies,(seems like forever) fo several months. Her first attempt was a small 6"x6" 8 page photo album for an elderly couple and their children that Maurinda knew while growing up in Arkansas. They were delighted with it when they received it.

Next, she is working on a heritage scrapbook for her paternal and maternal grandparents up thru she and her brother. She has already completed 13 pages.

Dawn, I saw your scrap pages on your website! Nice.

Oh wow CC. Oh my goodness what a small world. My mom and dad were both in the Army at Fort Hood. We lived on the base there. I'm not sure how long we were there but I could ask. We then moved to KY then to Oklahoma then back to KY then to Ohio which is where I graduated and then I moved to Florida afer I met my DH. My mom got out of the Army when she got pregnant with me. My dad is retired Army. He sitll works for the goverment as does my mom.
