Introduction and Question about SB Software

Hi, I am an avid scrapbooker and mother of two (children), ages 7 and 3. I never considered scrapbooking on computer but recently started looking at the software so I could help some friends create an adoption profile. Now that I've started looking I'm thinking it might be kind of fun to have for my own use too.

My friends want to create pages in scrapbook fashion that present pictures of themselves. They're not that interested in busy backgrounds. We need some software that allows me to crop pictures and create a cute frame (as if I had backed it with figured paper) and lay them out on a page (some tilted, etc.). So I guess I'm interested in software that will allow me to create my own pages rather than having to use just pre-designed templates.

Does anybody have any experience with scrapbooking software? After trying to decide which ones are best, it just occured to me to look for a newsgroup for advise this morning... I hope I can stay around and chat about scrapbooking too!

HI there... welcome! I do both... manual and computer scrapping. I have PrintMasterGold 10.(an older version than is available now) and Adobe Photo Shop (which I am trying to learn) and Scrapbook Deluxe, which is quick and easy.

I use Printmaster for printing multi amounts of photos on one sheet for scrapping manually, and also for creating titles and text boxes for my pages.

Adobe is great for fixing flaws etc.. I cant wait to know more about it.

Scrapbook deluxe has prepared pages to enter your photos on to create pages. Hope this helps.... Hugs, Neets, Memere Neets, Anita Connecticut, USA

Welcome to the group Gennie. I use Art Explosion's Scrapbook Factory mainly for titles, journaling blocks and clip art. I haven't done any totally computer generated pages, mainly because I don't have a printer that will print 12 x 12 pages yet.

Hi Gennie, Welcome to the group. I use Microsoft Picture It. It has templates and you can design your own.

Cheers! Elaine

Welcome to RCS Gennie. Where in Tennessee are you, I used to live in Clarksville and shop in Nashville. I had a friend from Chattanooga and have been to the other two big cities visiting malls.

Thanks to everybody for the welcome and the help! Some of you mentioned Picture It which reminded me that I have that software! I reformatted my drive this summer and forgot to reinstall it. I played around with it this evening and I think it will be just fine for what I want. Thanks!! Gennie

I've been through there many times and have stopped a time or two. I used to go through there to get home when we lived in Clarksville. That is a beautiful part of the state.
