Thanks for all the tips from last August. I am home now. I printed out photos from my digital camera and am awaiting the printed ones from film and from friends. Didn't get as many brochures as I anticipated. Got a few tickets.
I'll be excited when I can start on my project. I've already figured out what goes on what page.

Oh sorry I was responding to a closed discussion and should have copied it. My question was what do I do with travel souvenirs like brochures? Do I cut them or place them in the scrapbook whole. I got some good answers like make a pocket in the back or use them as a background.

I think the answer is "whatever you want to do with them." Some are really precious from trips I've taken and I wouldn't want to cut them. Some have great info or pictures and I'd cut them up in a minute to make an embellishment to go with the photos. I have albums that are buffered so an occasional non "acid free" item is OK.

I also use buffered pages and I have side loading so, like, I have a map of Amsterdam on the left edge of the page with the first pane glued to the page but then it opens up on the outside of the page protector so that it didn't take up my entire page but I could still enjoy it! That's the most clever thing I've done.

Since I started to serious scrap, I try and get TWO of anything. I cut them up using parts of them as backgrounds, then mat pictures over those pieces, as used them as supplemental pictures or parts of my layouts and of course just place them in safe folders of some sort.
Melissa, do you have a picture of that map thing you did where it folds out? That sounds like something I want to see and steal, err Scraplift!!
