Redecorating the craft room

I like the wall sayings. It looks really cute. I can't believe you got it from the dollar tree. What part? I was looking at your food album. Those dishes look wonderful. I am taking it you love to cook. I might have to ask you for a few of those recipes, if you don't mind sharing them.

Our dollar tree has a rack of Wall stickers and wallpaper borders in the home maintenance aisle... they've had them for ages but the designs change so you can't count on getting the same one twice (so make sure you get enough sheets for your purpose at one time!). Last year I had cute little froggies in the kitchen and butterflies in the bathroom and when I got tired of them I took the froggies down and changed the butterflies for flowers... and now I've got my saying - they had a bunch of them. Theoretically the stickers won't damage the paint on your walls so you can change them as often as you want - I say theoretically because some of the paint in our bathroom was loose and when I pulled the flowers down the paint flaked off with it! But that was easy to patch up, and they're much easier to use/change than wallpaper would be!

what out your cooking. you didn't say. LOL.

It looks very nice. Was the wall art hard to put up? I bought one on ebay and it is still in the tube, I am afraid I won't be able to get it up straight.

lol What about it? I'm perpetually astounded that people have any real interest in my food photos - I only took them to try and help me remember the different types of meal I made so I could do it again later... I don't really use recipes - I usually just make stuff up as I go along. :)

I don't know about other ones... but this one was individual letter stickers, and it was pretty easy to put it up - I like the 'wavy look' anyway so I didn't even TRY to make it straight! I just put up the first word on the left and then I put up the last word on the right (to make sure that the phrase took up the right amount of space) and then spaced the rest of it out evenly inbetween...

Wow that's amazing. I'm so impressed. Your DH must really enjoy that. I think my would get sick of the same thing all the time. I know I do.

Actually he likes very basic cooking most of the time! He didn't really enjoy it when I tried to get fancy... I've gone back to basics now (tonight we had spaghetti sauce which was just ground beef, onion, garlic, and a tin of seasoned crushed tomatoes, with whole-wheat pasta and a salad), which is why I don't bother with photographs of it, and he's much happier. Still, plain food can still taste good!

Wish it, dream it, do it... You're right... just perfect for the room and it already worked on your curtains. :)

Ooo, I'm so jealous. I don't have a craft room, I have a craft closet. But I am in the middle of reorganizing it and will post when I'm done! At least it's better than my old method which was: Put out folding table next to the bed. Sit on bed and start crafting. Gently lift up one end of table and pivot to make path to door for bathroom and food breaks. Gently lift and pivot the other way to make path to computer. Repeat until crafting is done and table can be folded up again.

Your room looks really nice Karen. I love the wall saying, it is perfect for a craft room. The curtains are really pretty too.

Some people from our church went to the local no-kill cat shelter together a few weeks ago... we liked it so much that we went back last weekend and I'd like to go back EVERY weekend if I can... the cats there are all so loved and well-treated that I don't want to steal them all away, because I know they're perfectly happy there! I can go THERE and love on them all at once. :) I couldn't possibly go to a shelter that wasn't no-kill though... it would be heartbreaking. :(

I figured out the right way to handle them now... a lot of them are very affectionate and really want a cuddle - I sat down on a chair and waited for them to come up to me, then I'd pick one up and stand it on my lap and start brushing... and when it jumped down it must have had enough so I'd pick up the next one. A lot of them stayed, and a couple of them came back for more. There was one sweet little torty who would have liked to stay put all day but I only had an hour!

We didn't go to the shelter this weekend because John's snuffly and he's allergic to cats so we didn't want to make him worse, and I've hurt my neck somehow... but he says we'll go back next weekend.

I am jealous that you have a space of your own for crafting! It looks really nice, and your curtains make it look bright and airy! I have a craft "corner" of my bedroom. DH thinks I might be taking over, though...it used to be only a corner, but its become a whole wall now..LOL
