I am not new to StampinUp, but I just bought my first background stamp. The other stamp sets I gotten have been no problem trimming and mounting. Do I also trim the background stamps. There really isn't much extra around the stamp.

It depends on how close you like to trim your stamps. I trim mine real close, but that's just how I like to trim. Have you shown the background stamp to your Stampin Up demonstrator? Maybe she could help you out on the trimming decision.
