Get ready for the March and April Challenges

MARCH CHALLENGE - Stick it to the Sketch!!! What do Betty Higgins and Eyelets and/or Brads have in common? If you take up the RCS March Challenge, a whole lot! Frankly, while she may protest, it's all my NSSSF Barb's fault that I'm including eyelts/brads in the March challenge! She and I put together a brad/eyelet order of magnificent proportions on Tuesday while talking on the phone. I did the keyboard thing part of the ordering as we talked and I got the order in today! Then again I guess our "bluejean" girl should share the blame for this month's challenge, since her posting about the Betty Higgins sketches got all of us going. For the fun of it, I've picked the sketch so it will be more fun for us to see the various interpretations of the same sketch. I've chosen #6 which is a 5 picture layout (yes the challenge is two pages), and #43 also a 5 photo, two page layout if you are doing an 8.5x11. You do not have to use 5 pictures, but you do have to be faithful to the sketch, while using as many eyelets and/or brads as you can. I'll post the two sketches on the website when I get a chance under March Challenge

APRIL CHALLENGE - Think Inside the Box!!! I don't normally announce a challenge a month or more ahead of time. But since this one requires that you use either an Altoid rectangular or a Velamint tin, I thought I'd give you time to find one, buy one, eat the contents and then get to the challenge. Your challenge consists of embelishing the outside of the tin and then creating a little album with at least 5 little pages to go inside the tin. I love pictures and words, so there should be pictures and words. Even if you are one of those quick bunnies who gets the challenge done by the end of this weekend, you may not post your tin/album to the newgroup until April. If you can't get an altoids or a Velamint tin, please let us know on the newgroup and I'll see if we can help out.

Happy Scrapping!

Five pictures?!?!?!?!?!?! EEP! Oh wait, why am I panicing? I'm always trying to figure out how to get more pics on the page. LOL I'll definately need the sketch on the website as I have never used any of Becky Higgins sketches or....*looks ashamed*...know who the woman is. Thanks for the heads-up, MC. Now maybe I can get March & April's challenges done more than

2 days before the end of the month. LOL

I look forward to doing both challenges. Luckily for me my DH is currently working his way through an Altoid Gum tin as we "speak".

I believe Becky Higgins is the head designer for Simple Scrapbooks Magazine. Every month in the magazine there is a different sketch that you are challenged to copy with your photos.

ROFL Oh sure! Just because we haven't heard of her, doesn't mean we can't follow the sketch....umm...right? LOL Looks like there's going to be more than a couple of us on the "Who is Becky Higgins" team.

I had heard of here and seen her sketches and books, but I've never "followed" one of her sketches. Each month CK Mag has a section with one of her sketches and a number of different renderings.

Hmm...I wonder how many first-time-sketchers we'll have. Me for one!

LOL...Sabrina she is probably very big, even HUGE, in the US but not as well known here, I don't think. Since I am a new scrapper I haven't been

*exposed* to the big names. We have just had the first visit of Brenda Walton to QVC UK on Friday. I didn't know her either until I heard on another board that she was coming to QVC, so I searched out her website....ROFL I did buy two TSV's on Friday but I don't know if I would follow BW's style....seems a bit fussy for me....LOL. This peeps is learning fast about stash building and I will find a use for most of what I bought, just not all on the one page....LOL!!!

I have spent the last two days *reorganising* so I know what I have and what I need to buy at the Hobbycraft Show on Thursday. I am going to get back to sorting out my little scraps into an accordion file, by colour, type, etc. makes it easier to use up all these bits :o)
