March Challenge posted

I finished my March challenge. I wasn't going to do this one because I had never used brads or eyelets before. However, I find that I like a challenge especially one that encourages me to learn new things. So... I learned about brads and eyelets. Practiced with a few brads at a crop on Friday night and finished this LO this afternoon after everybody woke up from their nap. This is also the first time I have followed a sketch. I hadn't even heard of Becky Higgins until it was mentioned here recently.

This LO has 6 eyelets and 28 brads.

Thank you Lynne. I'll pass on the compliment about the photos to my DH, he's the main photographer in the family and these are some of his. THe whole afternoon he kinda stayed in the background and took pictures. Well he tried to anyway. Near the end 5 yr old DD took the camera for her turn and she got some photos of DH. I'm enjoying trying new things.

Great layout, Lorilee! I love the flowers with the brads. And wonderful photos. I've never tried to follow a sketch either, but if I can do half as well as you have, it'll be worth trying. There is this long weekend coming up.. with Michael's coupons...

That looks great. I really like the way you put the brads in the middle of all of the flowers. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful pages Lorilee. I love the way the flowers frame the main picture. Aren't brads and eyelets fun to use?

Thanks. I expect I'll use brads more than eyelets because of the noise factor. Can't make too much noise after the girls are in bed.

Thanks. I was very excited to find that paper that I used to mat the main picture. So excited that I bought it even though it meant buying a package of 100 pages. my DH shook his head and said "why do you need that many?" So now I have a whole bunch of letter writing paper or for other pages or something. And yes I had fun using the brads and eyelets.

Thanks Sabrina. I'm anxious for the flowers to appear, but...not for awhile here, unfortunately. It's snowed all day today. I'll just have to work on some more spring and summer type layouts to pretend its spring. I am hoping that all this snow means things will be less dry around her this summer, though.

Lorilee, Beautiful LO and beautiful subject! I really like the flowers surrounding the pic on the first page. Do you think you will try other sketches after this one? I've got Becky Higgins first sketch book and love it. It's like looking at all of this group's March challenges. Just look at all of the different ways everyone has interpret the same sketch. M-C this was really a great challenge. Sandy

I thought I'd better get my March challenge finished and uploaded. It's been laying on my work table looking at me for two weeks and I finlly got time to finish it. I only used 17 brads between the two pages. This one is middle DD's thirteen years of Girl Scouts. I'm doing a second LO at the same time for oldest DD's scout years also. Used the same sketch and paper/stickers for both, though I did make a few changes M-C do I need to e-mail you the file or can you get it from webshots? Sandy

Now off to finish the April Challenge which I'm actually using as a piece of a bigger project. Can't wait to share this one.
