Melissa's March Challenge

Okay friends,

I did the March eyelet/sketch challenge. Mine's a zoo theme. I used 14 eyelets in all -- more than I've ever used before. I love how it turned out (though it's rather busy looking). So, I guess I'm joining the eyelet craze.

Silly me,

So I wanted to make my titles appear as animal print so my eyelets were pounded into Alpha Stax lettering. I think the effect worked well.

Melissa your LO's are wonderful. I like your title, very nice. Thanks for sharing. Like the colors and the way the title came out.

Love the LO. My DD just bought paper similar to yours at the store yesterday. I showed her the LO so she could scraplift your ideas. Hope you don't mind. Sandy

Looks great Melissa. I don't think it looks too busy. Really gives the zoo feeling.

Oh I love it Melissa! Those are the most gorgeous paper you used! And beautiful pictures. Living here in SA, I've got stacks of photo's of wildlife with all the nature reserves over here. I could use that kind of paper very well. Any chance you remember the brand/make?

Dear Judy,

The background Giraffe print as well as the White with black (snake?) print are part of the CM Zoo pack (and includes complementary alphabet stickers and maybe border stickers as well). I don't know if it's still available from the consultants. But of course, discontinued items can always be found on eBay. The faux fabric that I used was purchased about 3 years ago from Joann's, it was in the craft section. I think that the "Jugle foilage" paper was part of a zoo pack I bought at Hallmark. Having a zoo membership, I figured I should invest in some pre-packaged "zoo" packs as a start and then use the specialized papers as they seem to be needed.

Sandy,

Of course I don't mind be scraplifted. It'd be my first known scraplift and that's thrilling. Always the scraplifter never the scrapliftee... not anymore. Thanks!

Lynn and Lorilee,

Thanks for the encouragement. I was really going for the "zoo feel" and am glad to hear it doesn't come across as to busy for the eyeballs. I knew I liked it but it's pretty wild ... Ah, no pun attended, really. :)

Very nice work!

Question to all who participated in this challenge. I know what the eyelet part is, but what is the sketch part?
