Jessie and your boyfriend and all of their families are in my thoughts and prayers. I haven't been on the board long (I was here last here and left but found my way back). I began posting again this past January I believe. If you don't mind I would like the address so I can mail her a card. If not I understand.

I know I'm a sorta newbee but I know what it is like to have rent and stuff to pay and NO money coming in.

That is so sweet... go for it..

she does have bills to pay and she lives paycheck to paycheck so being in the hospital a while is going to be hard... plus there is a 5 year old at home... so expenses for food and stuff need to be covered... We can't afford much but we will do what we can... I've known when I was in a bad way that a little bit of money means ALOT. People have helped me keep my lights on and heat running and I'm paying it forward as much as I can. After all, we are ALL family...

I think I've gotten everyone so far... anyone else, please email me at duckwater AT GMAIL dot COM and I'll get it... I'll be out of state from april 2nd to the 11th but I'll get my email... I don't know if I'll be able to get to the newsgroups... probably not but I'll try....

I think we need to hold off on donations until I can find out who to send them to. If that person has a paypal account, we can contribute directly (every little bit will help!) to that person's account and save a lot of time moving the contributions from account to account. I'm in touch with Matt and Jean on this.

Jessie does have a paypal account. I'm not sure how hers is set up. If the family can get the her debit card, the DD may be able to use it. Or I can set my DD up with a paypal account. I’ll talk with her tomorrow about it.

OK, since Dave has decided to mail me a check for Jessie and my DH is onboard with our contributing and my collecting the money, I guess I might as well start collecting money for Jessie "officially." I have included a note to Jessie's parents in the card I am sending Jessie tomorrow so that they are also aware of what we are doing and I have included my toll free number so that they can contact me. Matt also has that number and I hope that he will contact me sometime tomorrow, or put me in contact with her parents if they are the ones who are going to take care of things for her.

I believe that it is important that the money goes to whomever will be paying her rent and other bills as soon as possible. Since it might take a short while for them to sort things out over there and I can easily send them a check priority mail or even wire it into their account, it makes sense to start the ball rolling as soon as possible at our end. You can rest assured that every penny you put into the paypal account will be sent to Jessie and her family. I'll take care of any fees, etc.

The paypal account I have for this purpose is mccplgATcomcastDOTnet.

Please at this junction, only paypal with cash and not credit card payments as this will increase the fees I have to pay. You can also email me for my snail mail address and send a check if you are more comfortable with that. As Dave and I discussed, I will deposit the checks I receive and then send on the money to Jessie or her family member.

I will also make sure that Jessie, her parents and Matt know where the money comes from and I plan on publishing an accounting on here of the amount of each donation received without the names, so as to not make anyone uncomfortable. I am sure that every little bit will help her.
