Jessie Update

Well I just got off the phone with Jessie's mom, Patti! First she would like to thank those of you who sent Jessie cards and she did get the little album. She's been a little under the weather for the past two weeks but is now feeling better. She shows Jessie the cards and your pictures and reads the sayings and your names that I wrote in the lunch bag album so that Jessie knows that we are still praying for her recovery and missing her. Jessie was having problems with her lungs and so they had to put her back on a respirator. Yesterday she was able to stay off the respirator for 16 hours and things are looking up. Once they wean her off the respirator they will be able to start weaning her of the tracheostomy tube and perhaps then Jessie will be aboe to communicate again. Patti tells me that Jessie can now lift her right leg about 3 inches and her right arm from the hand to the elbow. There is still a long, long way to go, but every inch that she moves is a victory!

Patti is excited to hear that Dave and I and perhaps others are planning a trip her way next month. Mackenzie is doing well too, she got on the phone with me and we talked for a little bit. She is so cute.

Please continue to remember Jessie in your prayers.

By the way here is the link to the hospital that she is at:

Thank you so much for the update M-C! I'm so glad that Jessie is making progress. Every little bit helps. It would be wonderful if you guys could visit her. I do believe that the postive energy and vibes around her would help her recover even more. Saying a special prayer for Jessie.

Sounds like she is doing mostly good. I hope they can get her off the respirator completely soon. I'll continue to keep her in my thoughts. If I get down to MIL any time soon, I'll try to go see her.

Thanks M-C for keeping us updated about Jessie and Patty. I know she is in good hands over there and all of the people are super. Even though she is not on DH's floor, he stops by when he can to see how she is doing. He keeps missing Patty, bcause he sort of is on the run all the time. Still keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.
