I spoke with Jessie's mom Patti for a while tonight. Jessie is at home, that is her parents home! She is now speaking. Apparently when they finally changed her trachiotomy tube before moving her from Kindred to the rehab hospital, she was finally able to speak. In the last couple of days she has been able to speak with her daughter, Harold and anyone around her that will listen, LOL! She has even told her mom that she wants scrapbook supplies for Christmas. Of course speaking is neither easy, nor does she sound the way she used to, but it is our Jessie, sense of homor intact!
She still has a long way to go, but this is the right time to send her cards and anything else that you might want. I guess this is yet another time when prayers were answered, so keep those up to! There is still a long and painful road ahead before Jessie can sit up of eat. She is still being fed through a tube due to problems swallowing. But they did let her taste some Pepsi the other day, which Jessie really enjoyed!
If you didn't get the address to send cards to Jessie, please do email me at itsmcsemail-rcs AT Yahoo DOT com and I'll send it to you.
Hugs to all, M-C
