I posted this under another tread but thought it would be easier to find this way.
OK, since Dave has decided to mail me a check for Jessie and my DH is onboard with our contributing and my collecting the money, I guess I might as well start collecting money for Jessie "officially." I have included a note to Jessie's parents in the card I am sending Jessie tomorrow so that they are also aware of what we are doing and I have included my toll free number so that they can contact me. Matt also has that number and I hope that he will contact me sometime tomorrow, or put me in contact with her parents if they are the ones who are going to take care of things for her.
I believe that it is important that the money goes to whomever will be paying her rent and other bills as soon as possible. Since it might take a short while for them to sort things out over there and I can easily send them a check priority mail or even wire it into their account, it makes sense to start the ball rolling as soon as possible at our end. You can rest assured that every penny you put into the paypal account will be sent to Jessie and her family. I'll take care of any fees, etc.

Please at this junction, only paypal with cash and not credit card payments as this will increase the fees I have to pay. You can also email me for my snail mail address and send a check if you are more comfortable with that. As Dave and I discussed, I will deposit the checks I receive and then send on the money to Jessie or her family member.
I will also make sure that Jessie, her parents and Matt know where the money comes from and I plan on publishing an accounting on here of the amount of each donation received without the names, so as to not make anyone uncomfortable. I am sure that every little bit will help her.
