What's on Your SB Xmas Wish List?

Oct 19, 2006 39 Replies

I love junk brothers, but always seem to miss their show. I hope you'll let us see what he makes! BTW did I miss your trip to FL? That would be a bummer as I was so looking forward to seeing you all! I know I answered an email about that, didn't I? I'm pretty confused, LOL!

I just got a cricut this week, another thing for my group to use, and my one disappointment is that the letters only go from 1 to 5 inches. For me 1 inch is big. I'd have loved to have seen 1/2 and 3/4 inch sizes. Not that I won't use it allot, but I'm still happy I got the Boss Kut. It's the easiest to use machine out of the whole lot I've tried.

The gourd is beautiful! I'm loving the answers to this particular question as we are getting to see such pretty things! Talk about enabling, LOL!

Ask this question every year about this time! So tell us, what itemS are on your wish list this year? Please do try to answer the following questions:

1) What item is so expensive that even though you'd love to have it, you just don't dare tell anyone that you want it?

Large format picture printer.... although I think I am going to suggest it to my hubby this year.

2) What item is really cheap to buy, but you still always put off buying it?

For a long time it was the xyron sticker machines... now I have two. I think now it would be the MM chipboard alpha

Of the handmade things you've seen on the internet, (a link to a picture of it would be wonderful to share with us) which one would you like to receive as a gift?

I don't have any at the moment. I do always enjoy receiving handmade tags.

What item or items do you use a lot of and are always running out of?

herma tabs and tombow permant runner

When you are in a scrapbook store, which section of the store are you most likely to spend time in? Paper (Dave doesn't have to answer this question). embellishments, newest Arrivals, cardstock, baby, travel, wedding etc.

Definitely New Arrivals

What else would you like to tell us about the kind of scrapbook items make your little heart pitter patter?

Any and all kinds of embellishments! Ribbon, metal, flowers, chipboard, Pet Items, Sticker Letters... I could go on and on.... ;)

I bought 4 of them last month, each has about 60 different sayings, one per double sided page. I plan to make a couple in the near future as soon as I figure out this sewing machine and buy some more ribbons and flowers. >

You can cut letters smaller than one inch, but you need to use the creative features (tags, signs, etc) to do it. In George you use the sign and the lettering will be a quarter of an inch for every inch you have it set on.

Ouuuuuuuuu! Thanks! I'll try that tomorrow!

I've seen flatter versions designed for scrapbooks, which are easier to make and very pretty, but I want to learn the real-looking ones. I can make roses, but they need practice. The hard part is learning exactly how each flower is made. I really need to quit fooling around with all this stuff and get to work on all these thousands of pictures that need scrapping. But it is fun...

I spend a lot of time in the paper section then the stamp section. I do every section of the store at least 2 times. It drives DH crazy when he's with me. I'll look at something then get a few aisles over and say I have an idea for that go back get it then go back to the aisle I was in and back and forth

Pens - for some reason I just don't buy them anymore. I have one black micron that I use all the time. I need to branch out and get some more colored one.

Tombow adhesive refills and solid colored cardstock

When you are in a scrapbook store, which section of the store are you most likely to spend time in? Paper (Dave doesn't have to answer this question). embellishments, newest Arrivals, cardstock, baby, travel, wedding etc.

Probably the paper section and embellishments. I spend a lot of time looking at rubber stamps too.

What else would you like to tell us about the kind of scrapbook items make your little heart pitter patter?

Anything that is new and different. I'm always looking for nifty metal embellishments.

I really wanted a Pazzles or a Wishblade and I can't even remember talking about it because it is so expensive. But DH gave me a Pazzles for my birthday last month. Just about knocked my socks off. What I really, really want more of is time.

Hmmmm, does anyone really have this issue? By the looks of my craft area, I don't!

I love those tearbears/tear critters.

Adhesive! (e.g., tape runner)

Paper and stickers are a neck and neck tie. I'm a definite sticker-aholic.

I love rub ons. I don't know what it is about them, but I absolutely love playing around with them.

Interesting questions, made me think. Kathy

Mel if you go to this website, you can order books to help you.

They have some really cool things at this site.

Ok, I finally stole 2 minutes to answer.... :-) Answers are between the questions.

Some kind of an organizer system for all my paper and stuff. I have the room, just don't have a place setup to work. Maybe like one of those big armoire/desk things that I could devote to my crafts.

Pens and markers...I used to have loads, but 2 moves later, I have like 3 or

  1. I keep telling myself that I don't NEEEEEEED them and can print whatever I need off the computer.

--not sure, actually--

Brand newwwwwwwww stuff, and the clearance aisle.

monochromatic color sets....like 5 shades of blue....or multiple shades of green, etc...and coordinated stuff to them.

BARB, LINDA, TERESA, TRISH, and others who did not answer either!!!

After all, enquiring minds need to know!!

Okay, here're my answers...

What item is so expensive that even though you'd love to have it, you just don't dare tell anyone that you want it?

One of the xyron runner printer things (not sure of the name) I have told people though, but it doesn't matter because there's no chance of anyone buying it for me anyway.

What item is really cheap to buy, but you still always put off buying it?

A bone folder, but I'm finally getting one when I place my order out of the OT catalog.

Of the handmade things you've seen on the internet, (a link to a picture of it would be wonderful to share with us) which one would you like to receive as a gift?

I never look up things like that online. I've seen some neat stuff in mags though. Something w/ beads & wire. One of these days I'm going to try beading.

What item or items do you use a lot of and are always running out of?

Now that I'm making so many atc's I keep running out of the permanent refills for the xyron glue dot runner dispenser. They're perfect for what I use them for. My first ones came from Dave a couple years back. Thanks Dave!

When you are in a scrapbook store, which section of the store are you most likely to spend time in? Paper, embellishments, newest Arrivals, cardstock, baby, travel, wedding etc.

Clearance, you never know what you'll find. Last time at Archivers I found the above mentioned glue dots refills marked down. This is also a good way to find stuff for raks or even ss swaps.

What else would you like to tell us about the kind of scrapbook items make your little heart pitter patter?

Lately I've really become a paper floozy. I love all the coordinating patterns and the retro stuff is too cool. I love looking at all the metal stuff that's out there, just don't want it in my albums. I don't mind using it on cards though. The clear stamps are great too. I'd love to have all the clear alph sets. Though I have more alph stickers than I'll ever use I still can't fight the compulsion to buy more. You know how it is! LOL

-----What item is so expensive that even though you'd love to have it, you just don't dare tell anyone that you want it?

The wishblade... drooling for years now. the crop-a-dile sounds like a new exciting thing I cannot live without but must for now.

------What item is really cheap to buy, but you still always put off buying it?

I need pirate stickers. Dane's 6th birthday was a pirate theme with a scavenger hunt and pirate attire. Because of the success of the Pirates of the Carribean movie there's a lot of great pirate stickers and embellishments available right now but I just cannot afford to buy anything for my hobby right now. I just hope these embellishments stick around awhile!

------What item or items do you use a lot of and are always running out of?

Creative Memories tape runner. It's the only adhesive that I love and I'm always out... which means I cannot scrapbook... UGH @#%&!

------When you are in a scrapbook store, which section of the store are you most likely to spend time in? Paper (Dave doesn't have to answer this question). embellishments, newest Arrivals, cardstock, baby, travel, wedding etc.

Stickers, Stickers, Stickers... I browse the entire store and make sure I see every last sticker.

-------What else would you like to tell us about the kind of scrapbook items make your little heart pitter patter?

I really like shaped eyelets. You know the ones that are of ghosts or teddy bears or....

Thanks for asking,

I have to say I want one of those cutter things... xyron, cricut... you get the picture. That's my biggy. Otherwise, i want Quickut things.

BUT, the most important thing I really want for Christmas this year, is my DH coming home in time for the holidays! :D So far, we're getting that, but I don't get my hopes up just in case it falls thru.

Susan, living in the land of no scrapping stuffs, or not much, or overpriced at our post store (so all the cool things you speak of, I can only visit online or in a magazine :D)

What item is so expensive that even though you'd love to have it, you just don't dare tell anyone that you want it? The Wishblade for doing those things the Cricut can't.

What item is really cheap to buy, but you still always put off buying it? I guess Rub-ons especially the stitch looking kind.
