workstation

Hello fellow scrapbookers...DO any of you have a really great workstation/desk? Do you know of any place where I can see ideas of desks...website or books? I am getting a scrapbook desk made because my space is not set up so I can reach my supplies well. Please let me know of a better way to set things up or where I can see a great desk. Thanks, Kelly

I bought a, big "L" shaped computer desk at Office Depot for under $100.00. The monitor goes in the middle and I have plenty of room to scrap on both sides. and in front of it. I bought two double door cabinets at Home Depot to put on the walls above the desk and now have a great scrap station. All for under 200.00.

half the top of it lifts up and when sitting at the couch its perfect height.. a friend of mine has one and I want one!!!!! if you guys want additional pics (hers is stuffed) email me.. I'll dig them out.... but you could easily store alot of your tools in there and embellishment boxes... the clear parts are windows (stuff won't fall out) and its bigger than it looks on the site..

I showed my hubby the table & he said his famous words "I can build that". I emailed the table people to see how much weight the table top would hold while it was extended because I was curious about it's stableness. They emailed back and said that it was designed to hold 250lbs fully extended!!!! They also said that it also works well as a sewing table. Sewing machines are pretty heavy. I really think that table is awesome.

We breifly thought about getting a coffee table like this when we bought our sectional. I decide that there just wasn't enough room for a coffee table. Though I thought it looked really practical if we'd had a regular sofa. They also sell them at Sofa Mart. (least here in AR they do/did 2 years ago)

I do have an oak coffee table very similar to this but it doesn't have the cool inside organizers. The table is on casters so it can be moved closer to the couch very easily. I found with mine that it can be very top heavy with the top raised up. It helps to store heavy things in the bottom as a counter balance. I typically keep blankets, phone books, and crayons in mine...but I like this scrapbooking organization idea! I might have to give some thought to organizer inserts.... I'd also have to put a lock on the doors to keep kiddie fingers off my pretty paper and cool punchies .

I have scrapped on this table from time-to-time, but I often lost stuff in my couch. :-( The way my new house is laid out, I can scrap at the dinning table. I have more room, better light, and can still see the TV. But, no storage. I have to pack & unpack every time.

It's still a great table. I got mine at Oak Express for about $250 on sale. I got the dark walnut color, but my MIL has the honey oak.
