Sounds like it's time to move on to 'Sewing for Children' then! ;-D The variety of designs isn't *quite* as good as 'Sewing for Toddlers', but you'll still get good value for playclothes and basics from the book.
I was wondering: can anyone help me adjust a pants pattern to fit my DD? I think some of you are aware that she has a congenitally swollen tummy? This makes it increasingly hard to get clothes that fit, but even harder for me to make pants for her.
I've tried the usual way of 'exploding' the upper part of a pattern, but it usually results in a pair of pants that look like they belong on Tweedledee or Tweedledum! For some reason, despite measuring and measuring again, I can't seem to strike the right balance and the few pairs of pants I've made are just far too balloony around the middle. Where am I going wrong?
I'd like to make a pair of straight-leg, lined gaberdine pants (with a zippered pocket) for DD to wear to school. However, the few miserable attempts I've made at making trackpants have sapped my confidence and I've given up. Now, I'm too nervous to put my scissors into expensive gaberdine!
Can anyone help please?
